So…I see all these post or people losing their minds about the "Hillary Hole" on wheel guns, interrogating the OP, making it a deciding factor on purchases, and more….what gives?!? The tool firing the deadly lead seems to functions the same and has no reliability impact… I guess my question is.. does the Hillary hole matter? Am I missing something? Or is it simply folks being cork sniffers? Or hung up on principle?

Thanks for any info…

Generally oldsters are the ones complaining. I prefer pre lock versions but most of mine are post lock. I'm almost an oldster too. There's a kit out there to remove the lock and plug that nasty hole with a color matching plug if that's important to someone. Taurus has had issues with their locks seizing but I've never heard of a S&W having that issue.

Hillary hole?

It matters to me....I think that it is a useless addition.

In any event...buy a Smith and Wesson with one or not as you wish...you are the one that has to live with your choices.
It don't matter what other people think.

Biggest favor ever perpetrated on behalf of geriatric revolver owners.

Now you can have endshake, timing issues, significant finish problems, stripped screw heads, firewood quality grips..... but it's "pre lock" . So it's worth the highest asking price you see on gunbroker.

It's more the principle and not the hole itself.

Basically because S & W caved to pressure and created the mechanism.

Not unlike crossbolts on a Marlin or Winchester.
Smith and Wesson added another hole, so just like a donkey hole, I don't need another one :s0140:

Wow that's amazing, it could be one of those ultra rare ones: pre-lock, pre-ban, pre-Obama care, pre-Covid, and from a smoke free home! :p

Agree on the buying whatever I want regardless of what people thing (I own a flintlock!, and that its a useless addition)… But was curious if there was a functional reason for declining a wheelgun for such.

Thanks for the feedback sir!

Flintlock a useless addition...Um...No. :D
The dumbazz Hillary Hole...yes...it is useless...since all you need for safety...is to keep your fingerr off the trigger and keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

In any event...
It don't matter what I say..since it really is only important to me.

Buy what you want....use what you want...enjoy what you like.
