I have no idea what you are trying to say in that first sentence. The second one about being controlled by the government is absolutely ridiculous. I have a hard time accepting that you actually believe that crap. It's just nuts to think like that and then you try and pass it off as if its a fact.

Oh, the first line was a play on the saying, "Don't argue with idiots, they'll pull you down to their level and beat you with experience."
Basically, same thing.

As for not accepting my second statement? Now now. If you're a liberal, and you voted for Obama, Feinschwein, and any other number of dems, then you are in fact part of the problem, and voting for more government control in your life, because that's obviously what you want. Otherwise, you wouldn't do it.

To be fair though, Repubs are just as bad, and almost as responsible as your average lib. Modern libs though are trying to push us toward this socialist "utopia" that won't happen, and will result in all of us being subjugated by this big government monster that the libs are constantly pushing for. That's fact. Look at the growth of government and entitlement programs. If you look at those and then don't get it? Well, there's nothing anyone can do for you until you have a come to the light moment.

It is what it is.

Ridiculous eh: Let's Give Up on the Constitution

Sounds like he wants to remove the last remaining barrier to the Total State for the "betterment of society". Today's left revolves around elitism and hubris masquerading as empathy.

The urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule. - H. L. Mencken

Basically. There is a lot of masquerading that's masking fear of each other and their own self. The gun-control crowd is proof of that. They don't want anyone carrying because they are afraid of what they will do personally if they carry.

Just because there is a sickness within you, does not mean there is a sickness within others.

DaveM, makes a fair enough statement. The liberals I know, think the rich should pay for everything and they should pay for nothing since they made the rich, wealthy in the first place. It is the ant and grasshopper all over again for a Liberal. They blame prosperity on those they view as gifted by the government. So in turn they feel they should be gifted as well. True there are bail outs, but most people work for what they have. Most every job I have had since I was 17 had been 50+ hours per week and then some. What I have, I earned! Liberals want gifts and in turn offer obedience and will sell off their rights and those of others to get it.
I thought Liberals should be more offended then anyone over the gun grabs.
But the King offered them riches and rewards for their compliance and they sold out.

This is not a bash on Liberals, it is pure unadulterated fact, If you are for taking constitutional rights away then you FAIL at being a supporter of constitutional rights. The concept is very black and white.

This, and if you look at a good number of the liberals out there, especially the loudest about the gun control argument. You'll find that they've had to work for very little in their lives. Life has been comfortable for them thanks to their parents, which did them no service, as they think everyone should have that comfort, and it will just grow on trees.

At some point though, the rubber has to meet the road. There will always be those that work, there will always be those that benefit from the work of others, and there will always be beggars. It's our job to make sure those beggars don't co-opt and occupy the government into making sure that their lives as beggars are more comfortable and fulfilling than those that work so the beggars can thrive.

You know what happens then? More producers opt out of the system. Fewer producers means less available resources for the beggars to gain for free. Meaning that producers now have to pay more, which in turn causes more producers to opt out. Eventually we end up like france and the UK.

Well personally, I'm equally scared of the folks who are freaking out about 'libs' and 'statists' as I am by the gun-control advocates.

Mostly, the Proles on either side don't bother me. It's the string-pullers successfully convincing us nobodies that another group of nobodies is the problem that worry me. Diane Feinstein is a nobody. Ultimately, so's Barack Obama. The power in this country comes from money; Bloomberg, the Coch Brothers, and others like them, that's who decides things around here. They've each got their puppet candidates, but don't believe that Obama was a big loss for the right-wing money; they had vetted him long before he took office. They only allow candidates that they can work with, and then they let us pretend that the decision matters.

In a world of Super PACs, when you can calculate the value of your vote in US dollars, "right" and "left" are just labels that make us easier to control, and "gun control," "abortion," "gay marriage," "entitlements," and "national defense" are just the strings they pull to control us.

Go on, dance your dance, right-wing monkeys. The left-wing monkeys will dance theirs too, and maybe some legislation will be passed, but it won't have any real effect on anything unless it increases profit or decreases cost.

That's funny, a libertarian who sneers at people who criticize the state. :s0114:
Some people who criticize the state do it in nutty and ineffective ways. I don't trust their motives. I don't "sneer," though. I'll leave that to people who think they're better then other people. I went on to say "Mostly, the Proles on either side don't bother me."

I give the state a pretty rough critique myself, for what it's worth.

LOL @ not sneering, because you just insulted all the "right wing monkeys" here slamming the state for its 2A treason, because that apparently means we are so focused on 2A that we miss all the other atrocities the government engages in.

Newflash: this is a gun board.

" Modern libs though are trying to push us toward this socialist "utopia" that won't happen, and will result in all of us being subjugated by this big government monster that the libs are constantly pushing for."

Umm, you can keep repeating it but it doesn't make it true. We disagree on specific programs and where and how to allocate resources but morphing that into a desire to be controlled by the state is just lunacy.

The little boxes that you put "most liberals you know" into is purely an inverse projection of your own beliefs. I came from an incredibly modest upbringing. I run a small business, pay my people well and pay my taxes. Nobody gave me anything. I squirreled away a years wages to live on while I gambled it on a start up in a recession. You know nothing about me.

I also just insulted all the "left-wing monkeys." Are you insulted? Do you consider yourself to be a "right-wing monkey?"

LOL, you are confirmed ritard. Even the article you linked admits the federal spending is increasing, the only thing that decreased is the rate of change in government spending as a % of GDP. Of course the caveat is that Obama oversaw the biggest increase in spending as % of GDP in history, so claiming he slowed actual spending is a sick joke.

Welcome to the age where "the personal is political".

umm... reread the charts.

Um, learn math. Specifically, percentages can be deceptive because they are relative, and first derivative (i.e. rate of change) does not mean what is measured is actually decreasing.

Reminds me of an old Nixon quote: "The rate of increase of inflation is going down." I'm sure the NYT slammed that one but now give Obama a pass. Go figure.

So too stupid to see a blatant workaround on this site's word filter.

You mean this one?
