The overall effect in a Oregon is clearly visible. CHL laws were implemented in '96. Look at trends in crime leading up to, then coming away from that period. While CHL laws can't be concluded to be the ONLY reason for the decline in violence, they are clearly not having an adverse effect.

WA CWP (now CPL) were started in 1935, But that didn't correlate to lower crime until much later.

I just want to add that I'm surprised to see antis still using the "gun crime is down" argument when talking about Australia. Seems they haven't been smacked down with the "violent crime" statistic enough, yet...
