I have yet to validate how much hype is in this article, but I have read elsewhere that China is indeed laying down the "plumbing" to do trades with other countries using its currency for various commodities.

China is an oil importer not an exporter - if the title is wrong, why bother reading the story.

China is however already doing some trading in other currencies.
