Just like the title says, I'm in the fence about what route to take. If they had the ep45 available, it would be no question. I do plan on building a Glock compatible .45 pdw as well, at this point.

Personally I won't touch an AR style weapon with a polymer receiver.

When the Extar first started popping up I was enamored by it. Great idea. Good price. A little ugly but completely functional HiPoint's slightly better looking cousin. One thing that swayed me away was the ability to upgrade/change with the AR platform.

They are prone to breakage where the RE screws into the receiver.

You'll like it more that way.

Nothing against the Extar, just that for a little more scratch, you get aluminum and less ugly.

Curiosity was due to having an unfinished polymer 80 lower. Second guessing it now.

I have a polymer (hybrid) lower receiver and hybrid upper receiver AR.

....and it's in .22LR with a CMMG conversion kit. No way I'd run full power over time in a polymer lower.

My 9mm pistols have polymer lowers. My Extar runs great and is light enough for my wife to wield.
