I have seen enough examples snapped at the pivot pin that the weight savings is not worth a weak receiver. Besides, there really isn't a money savings considering how cheap Anderson Arms lowers are going for.

Amen to that. I've seen them hold up for 1K rounds then crack or takedown / pivot pins egg out.
