How do you sort that list for guns? I found the toggle for Guns right below the state name and overall rank. But how can/do I sort for just gun freedom?
Up along the top you can select categories to see how the states rank for that category

Obviously this data is before 114 and the new "emergency legislation in Oregon and Washington

When you select guns it will take you here:

Something to keep in mind that isn't on the index, but related is the percentage of Federal Land. Some states that are pro gun don't have a lot of public space to go shooting.

I got that far (your first sentence). But I was looking for a way to compare multiple gun-free states simultaneously. I see that I can't do that, and will just have to open each state one by one. But I guess that's better than not being able to sort by guns at all...
Thanks! :s0155:

With any luck, we'll be outta here for Florida soon. As much as we like WA, the government seems hellbent on out-Californiaing California.
This is really sad. I can see people bailing oregon, for Idaho, Montana, Utah, even N/S Dakota (shudder). But good lord, Florida? MERCY! Do you know the highest point in Florida is only 345'? Maybe there's places in Florida where trees grow that haven't been broken off at some point by fricken tornadoes/hurricanes? And enough places that don't flood when a storm combines with a high tide to live? And heat/humidity always trying to out do the other?

That's just the stuff I think about when I think of getting out of this hell hole called potland to somewhere like Florida. Your mileage will most likely vary! I hope.

I did move....but I had also been trying to get back to Idaho since 2004.
It's getting so bad around here that even those parts of Idaho don't seem so bad any more when I think about it.

When mom and dad were alive, starting 1983, we went down to visit the old home town in The Salt Lake Valley. Man that area of Idaho is a cold, miserable sucker in the winter.

Lived in Pocatello from 1980 to 1987...it was great as a kid but not so much as an adult. I'm in the Boise area and it's a bit more mild but the winters are still a bit too cold. Stil, MUCH better than being oppressed by Oregon politics!

You'd be amazed what kind of bubblegum you get used to. Stuff you would find unbearable, is just something you have to deal with here. Portland was great for THIS jack Mormon when I moved here in '83.

They don't don't like us in-staters so much either. I've hunted antelope only once and I've lived here a looooooooooooooong time. I've got 17 points and counting.

Yeah I am at 18 points and never gotten one. There were many years I gave up and didn't bother to even buy a point too. I guess that's what I get for drawing bighorn sheep in the first time I applied.

I grew up in a sub-tropical climate that makes Florida look like a dry region, lol. This move, if it happens, will be harder on my better half than myself. I've lived through many hurricanes, not one of them tried to strip me of my civil rights ;).

Two years and counting.

Looking at the Pocatello and surrounding areas.
Lived nearby in Idaho Falls in the first part of my teenage years. It was a nice place to be at that age. Lots of fishing and bike riding, and it was really close to Kelly Canyon for the weekly winter pilgrimage and not far from Grand Targhee when the folks really wanted to treat us kids to a grand day out on the slopes. But it was flat as a phuq'n pancake and windy as hell...

As an adult and a semi-retired climber now, I really don't think eastern Idaho is my cuppa tea. I'm more interested in the mountains, trout streams, and whistlin' pines of Idaho County now. Was introduced to the place about 30 years ago when a rock climbing buddy took me to some sweet granite on the South Fork of the Clearwater on Highway 14, and fell in love with the place right then and there. I climbed there about twice a month all summer and well into the fall for the next 20 years, but Grangeville and its environs could not support my professional career in the manner of the lifestyle to which I had become accustomed. Now, screaming headlong towards retirement, I believe it's the place I want to be to escape the increasing oppression, socialism, and totalitarianism of this prison state.

Too invested with my Job to move....
And while I know lots of people...few are actually friends...and what friends I have are here.
So...
No....No plans on moving.

Don't like the laws , bans and such we do have....don't see the need for 'em.....and will continue to sign repeals and the like to these un-just laws , bans ,etc...

Added bonus, you'll be moving just in time to experience Florida's property insurance crisis.

Never knew this was happening there. Did a quick google/partial read. "Fraud". Prefect! Man screwing his fellow man. People ar scum.

I'm looking at Kentucky. I'm originally from Illinois but don't want to go back there but wouldn't mind being back in the midwest.

I do have a nice job here but I got a cdl so I'm able to find decent work pretty much anywhere, especially if I want to drive semis.

Oregon is great but ill never be able to own several acres and a house out here without hitting the lotto. Add in all the crazy homelessness, rampid drug addicts roaming all hours scheming to steal any thing of value we worked hard for, gender confusion and all the crazy laws.

Buying several acres and a camper trailer sound real nice even if its humid and stormy. Just want somewhere I can build a berm for shooting, sit out on a summer night with a beer and star gaze with my woman and the dogs. Plus be able to retire without paying a bank hundreds of thousands in interest.

My buddy and his wife moved out there in 2021-2022 and bought 7 acres for under 20k. Spent another $20k or so to get it up and running with their camper trailer. Their plan is to save money till they can build a house without taking a loan. I'm thinking of doing something similar.
