I utilize my phone and my tablet here.

I use swipe text on my phone and fat fingers it on the tablet.

Woods - perfect example I tried to type words and woods popped up.

Other words like god happen a lot. I was trying to type good.

Question is, is it my phone and tablet, the website, or a combination of both?

I've seen the input section correct my typing so I think the website has an autocorrect?

Are the two autocorrecting each other because I can't type?

In my observations with this, its your phone or device, ive never seen an autocorrect program work.

Ive turned all mine off. Id rather have a spelling error than a grammar error.

From my phone i can swipe text in here or fat finger type and the forum does not autocorrect me. (Android, Firefox mobile browser)

From my home desktop the forum does show me when Ive made a spelling error, but the choice is mine to fix or not. So I dont suspect the issue has anything to do with the forum. But perhaps the mods can chime in.

I'm fairly certain NWFA has a form of word correction in the typing field. See the picture where it highlighted the word blue?

Typee see how it was underlined red in the picture?

If I tap the misspelled word. See the picture where correct options are displayed?

It's where it happens automatically, that I can't figure out if it's the website or my phone. Or both not getting along?

My phone does, see that picture, and I can hit the correct word on the phones/tablets keyboard to correct.

I'm pretty sure it's the browser you're using. But I could be wrong too. @Joe Link?

Beats me, I just typo a lot and I'm noticing it more. I know I should try to type better, just curious if it might not be my fault! You know, blame everyone but thyself!

I think its your phone or tablet, otherwise it would be consistent with all of us. My phone has spelling suggestions but show up on the screen keyboard not in this text box. That's an android thing I suspect.

typee <-- the red underscore is from my Firefox browser, if I right click on it it gives me word suggestions... a browser feature. I dont suspect the forum has any auto correct features. If your noticing it more its possible your devices OS had a recent update....

Its bad enough losing a gun because of a tragic boating accident. But what is even worse is when all your Rugers turn into Rivers. And knowing some nwfa members can be touchy, its not very comfy discovering I have called you all nadas. In fact, I don't very much like having called myself a nada.

Professional writers generally prefer WORD 2007 to more recent versions for various reasons. One is that 2007 comes closest to letting you turn the autocorrect off entirely. For any technical document autocorrect is a huge pain because its technical vocabulary is very limited. It tries to turn all the technical words it doesn't know into common words it does.

Fwiw iphone and chrome, with phone autocorrect on. Offers replacements immediately, no red line under word.

With autocorrect off, just red line:

If click on underlined red word and hit replace (note sometimes it offers to replace immediately if you click underlined word, maybe if there is only 1 suggestion i dunno)

Looks liek the browser is foing this to em but i dunno. Dang i should turn autocorrect back kn.

Edit: just noticed that phone has both an "autocorrect" slider and a "check spelling" slider. So maybe that red underline comes from the "check spelling slider.

Edit 2: just checked. When "check spelling" slider on phoen is off there is no red line under word:
