Important Notice, please write the NRA and OFF and tell them to step up. Its been reported OFF is writing rebuttals to the new proposed ballot measure. ( writing ? that will tell em)
Lets look at the last 15 years OFF has told us to write............someone correct me when did writing stop any laws in this state? OFF was told about this last year and did nothing and is only now taking the threat serious. But not serious enough to do anymore then write strong letters. And yet again OFF is playing defense again. Wow, just wow. I have know problem being honest, OFF is powerless to stop this, they were powerless on dealing with just legislation. More smoke and mirrors by OFF, stating that most proposed ballot measures do not make the ballot.
Yet they play down that this was already planned last year and the antis are riding on Vegas thru Florida rush of gun hatred this is not just some ballot. So tired of people saying Donate to OFF and the NRA...............they accomplish nothing here. They need to step up and do something that makes a difference. But its like talking to a wall as there are just as many sheep on this side of the fence as the other doing what they are told and not asking serious questions....

There is only so much legal paperwork that can be prepared prior to one of these being filed. They have a general sense of what the language will say. These legal challenges must also be submitted in a very specific format. Asking the public to write letters or prepare for text that does not actually exist would be irresponsible at best, because people would be writing things that would not even be considered in the first place.

They are and have been working with a legal team, I believe they did this back in 2000 on measure 5 so they have plenty of experience handling these things. I have been in contact with one of them asking specifics and they fairly prepared.

I understand directing frustration towards something tangible or something we could possibly change, but the fact of the matter is we can't. If I'm in school and have a test, I do not study material that the teacher hasn't presented, hoping it'll be the right information. I prepare someone what ahead of time and follow the teacher's instructions along the way. You're asking OFF to do something that does not make any sense, and would probably inspire even more frustration amongst members, because they are doing something that does nothing.

I do agree that we should be more proactive rather than reactive when it comes to these things. Getting a measure on the ballot costs significant money, time, and resources, with a very small window to complete these things. There's a reason they fail so often or organizations do not attempt these until they feel somewhat confident they won't be throwing away tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I cannot comment on what the NRA is doing now, but we should be asking the regional office how they are helping. If we want to be proactive with this then we have do be flooding them with messages. The members must rally and come together to put pressure on the people who have the experience and organizational skills to complete such a tremendous task.

OFF knew about this last year, and it is very common for all lobbyist to prepare the public for issues.

I don't buy any of the excuses. I disagree as it has been done exactly as you say it can't.
The problem is Lobbyist hold themselves above contempt not just here but all states.
I don't make the rules you either succeed or don't, if you never succeed ever, then you are not doing the
correct needed action and are out of touch with the citizens of Oregon just how it is.
Those who choose to follow the NRA and OFF will do so at their own peril. I wish it was not this way
but it is. There is no frustration by gun owners, I think however most are tired of all the smoke and mirrors by the NRA and OFF when it comes to Oregon.

Presented in 2018 sure thats whats officially there and it is said that it was this year but nope,
I even posted it here last summerat NWFA and it was ignored.
Thats when this was designed and conceived. Why OFF did not act
I have no idea but, SB941 could have been avoided again the same issue reacting after the fact.
I remember the time specifically because m Granddaughter was born just a couple days after last summer.

It will likely be like how Bill Clinton was investigated and action taken long after he was out of office whom was behind this. As I have said they are out of touch and are therefore always playing defense. Its kinda sad, cause
I know Kevin has the passion to do great things, but over the years even he has fallen prey to how politicians act
and put themselves up on a hill and can't see the people.

As I said I don't make the rules, things just as they are.

Yes. I am also aware that correlation does indicate relationship between data sets. Are you aware what correlation does imply? Because it certainly is present when things are causal, it is just not conclusive proof. And since all those I mentioned were also socialists of ideologies very closely related to liberals, I'd say it would take willful ignorance not to see.

When the liberals actually commit genocide, and kill millions of americans, then yes, I will be in the same camp as holocaust deniers, but until then, its speculation of a bewildering degree to assume an assault weapons ban inevitably leads to a holocaust or great leap forward. Again, I could cite more examples of nations that have banned similar weapons yet have not spiraled into full on genocide mode.

Weapons bans are inevitable before genocides. While the other is not always true, it is frequently true, and I for one don't want to roll the dice. Also, does it make sense to centralize greater power in a state liberals call fascist?

You may very well be right about SB 941. I do not know enough about it.

But I'll ask, ask it pertains to IP-43, what specific actions could OFF have taken to somehow make this process more difficult for the petitioners? Even if they did know prior to it being filed, I cannot see where they incorrectly prepared for IP-43. How would prior knowledge and more public involvement (if this was known since last summer) have changed the IP-43 timeline. The first day the prospective petition could have been filed is listed as "anytime" in the guidelines. The earliest a 2018 petition could be put into circulation was July 11th, 2016. IP-42 was filed March 19th, 2018, followed by IP-43 March 22nd, 2018.

I see a lot of you need to read this proposed bill. If this POS is approved at the ballot box it will half empty your safe. They aren`t just after AR type rifles, they want anything that holds 10 or more rounds. .22 RF and it goes up from there.
This is the confiscation assault we`ve been expecting from the progressives for so long.
