Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Saturday that the Senate should wait until a new president is elected to confirm a replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia.

I have serious doubts he will be able to delay the confirmation of a replacement for 11 1/2 months. There will be too much pressure from the democrats in the Senate plus the President.

I guess it's kind of a tradition that SCOTUS appointments are made by the next President when there is a vacancy in the last year of a presidential term, but we all know this president will not honor that tradition, he'll rush to appoint a far-left justice.

I found an article that says that nearly half of the nominees selected in the last year of a presidential term were defeated in the Senate. Let's hope this is what will happen in this case.

I have been rather open to a Trump presidency up to now, but because of this issue I am now 100% Ted Cruz. He is the only one I completely trust when it comes to choosing a nominee.
