Kamala Harris is already being talked about as a replacement. Thank god this isn't 2010 and we have a majority in the Senate. I shudder to think of how different this country would be with her replacing Justice Scalia.

I understand the gravity of the loss, but I am not sure I quite follow the panic. To overturn Heller a lot more has to happen. SCOTUS hears 80 cases of 10,000 submitted. Overturning Heller cannot be done by a simple challenge. There would have to be a significant case, e.g. a state or district court willfully ignoring Heller, which in turn would have to run the appellate process. The supreme court will be very hesitant overturning their own decisions unless they want to open the door to "flip-flopping". The Senate will not approve a left liberal, so depending on how confident the dems are in winning the 2016 elections, they themselves may be interested waiting it out - or just play some games until then to blame the Republicans for obstruction.

The more I'm reading about this the less I like. Someone in authority needs to call for an immediate autopsy. Even if the body has already been embalmed there is still much a medical examiner can learn from the body.

Just perhaps this might be a good thing if the Republicans actually do their job and knock down Obama's sure to be, biased prog nominees.

Now everyone in the MSM is finally talking about SCOTUS appointments and how they can rule on Immigration law, Marriage, gun rights and our rights in general.

This might just be what was needed to wake up the sleeping masses.

I seriously doubt it though. Obama was voted in twice and we have a Socialist running for Prez doing well.
