Looks like everyone agrees better mental health treatment will help to curb the problem, whereas support for buybacks and bans is split by whether you own a gun or not (big surprise).

As a gun hobbyist who is familiar with the operation of many types of guns, what those guns can and cannot do, I am not really afraid of a mass shooting. So I guess I'm one of the 4/10.

What do I fear? Yesterday on my way to the store I witnessed a head-on collision in an intersection. Last Friday I was in stop and go traffic on I-5 just south of Portland and the lady behind me never once looked up from her phone. That's what I'm afraid of.

Wait are these the same polling outfits that said Hillary was going to take the electoral college by a land slide and win the election for months up till and including the night of the election.

Then she lost by a landslide.

Polls are not what they once were and most gun owners that I know will not take or answer them even if contacted.

I fear mass shootings. I fear the more of them that hit the news the more likely some more stupid people will pass more stupid laws that will do nothing to curb the events. But will screw with my enjoyment of the shooting hobby and our ability to protect ourselves.

Must be terrible living your life in fear.

Be a victor, not a victim.

Besides the polling flaws in itself.

This just goes to show....how irrational some people are.

Throughout the recent history of the world....the BIGGEST mass murders have been politicians and the leaders of certain countries (alot of them Commie countries). Oh but....look at the young leader of the Dems in the USA? OMG!!

Wanna call the Socialist instead?

Whatever. They'll collect the guns and have their way with you and your family.

BTW.....I'm willing to chip in.....to send AOC to a Socialist Heaven- Venezuela.....one way/no returns.

Aloha, Mark

PS......gettin' back to it.

Like S#@*..... It happens. Can't fix everything. MURDER has been against the law in like forever. But, having a law hasn't stopped MURDER from happening. Focusing on the tool used is the wrong approach. There you are....

Otherwise, we'd have to ban:
Cars
Knives
Pressure Cooking Pots
etc.....

I fear Portland... since I don't want to fear, I don't go there!!!

I also fear mass shootings... I fear a home invasion robbery with 3 or more BGs and I would have to shoot them all... then I'd get stuck with the cleanup of those A-holes!!!

Yet another poll that neither I, nor anyone I know participated in.
It clearly shows how many people are ignorant of history.
Doesn't anyone know the failure of Prohibition or the consequences of it?
How successful is the "War On drugs?
Get a clue people.

Do I fear a mass shooting...No
Do I ever think What if we have a murderer loose at say my school , where I teach...Yes
Thinking and planning for , does not equal fear.

Do I think more gun laws will help stop mass shootings...again No.
A law is only effective if people wish to abide by it....Criminals by their nature do not abide , by laws....
so most laws against something , don't stop crime.

As for the question of fear...
Having been shot at and shot back ...and survived...
I can say that , for me at least , fear did not stop me from doing what needed to be done.
It boiled down to not wanting to die , so I did what I could to prevent that from happening.

When being shot at...
You may get shot and wounded or killed...I'd rather get wounded or killed by doing something , than get wounded or killed by doing nothing.
