To be fair, MAC also did a video where by the numbers on a page, the upper limit on 10mm is to far out of reach from .45ACP and even the .45 super, it's not really much of a race. I'd imagine it extends the gap even more when put through PCCs

Of course, 10mm didn't kill any Nazis, so...
By the numbers yes. But theres lots of variables and I really like the way Pauls meat target is a very practical way to see real world results. Also consider that the upper limit in 10mm got some ammo makers in hot water few years ago pushing that limit. But I think a careful handloader would really maximize the 10mms potential.

All well until someone looks at a 460 Rowland conversion in their pistol. It's basically a drop in for most modern pistols. I'm not arguing at all as I'm looking for a 10mm right now but the 45ACP will do the same thing a 10mm will do, just with more options.

Yeabut the .45 family will bounce off a grizzly and the 10mm will stop it dead in it's tracks with 1 shot. The internet says so. The .44 mag can't even do that.

Had a 45, it was alright, sold it and went back to 9mm.

More recently, got into the 10mm, I like the energy it can deliver, while having a good capacity, something I can take into the northern woods for some creature defense...

Grabbed a G40 Gen4 MOS, put a green dot on it.

I already know, my wife, would not enjoy a 45, oddly enough, she really enjoys shooting the G40.

If I can find one, I'm looking for a specific 1911 in 10mm.

I see this to be an egregious argument, as with most caliber comparison. What I see that gets overlooked is that both will do the job. JHP of either caliber will kill bad guys and small to medium game with proper shot placement, and hard cast in both calibers will kill lots of living creatures, including bears, with proper shot placement.

IMO, neither is better, they have both been proven effective. 45 makes bigger holes, 10mm will be more accurate at longer distances.

I will say this, if I encountered a mad grizzly I would want something larger than 10mm or 45acp: 44mag at a minimum. 480, 455, 500, etc. would be preferable.

There's been a lot of great answers so I'll just cast my vote: for home defense and logistics 45 is easily my first choice, if I needed a Hail Mary for charging grizzly 10 would be my 1st choice.

I carry the .45 and load it with good old Black Talon's and Ranger T's. And with that set up you really cannot go wrong. Been carry the XDM for a while and love it. 10mm is a sweet round but I can follow up shoot with 45 better than 10mm.

45acp vs 10mm Which is better, why and so on. ?
Spin the wheel. Whatever you get, make sure you can shoot it well under duress. Because that's what is most important.

Is it an FM45? I own one complete firearm built from one plus a spare receiver.
Yep.

I was eyeing bprice's Angstadt lowers which look awesome but I didn't want to spend $200 plus for a stripped lower.

I was born in the late 50's. I've had 45's. I remember my 1st shot with that Kimber. My son was middle teens and standing by my side. We were both surprised at actually seeing that 230 pill lumbering towards the target.

I did own a 10mm 1st (it was a Javalina, bought new). Years ago I sold all my 45's. It's 10mm all the way for me.

In fact, I recently got the OK from my CFO (wife) to add to my collection.

I bought a brand new DAN WESSON SPECIALIST 10MM.

Life is good! 😉
