The 5 round limitation is for semi-automatic rifles only.
Bird hunting is 1 in chamber and 2 in magazine. All other rifles are only limited to 5 if semi-auto.I think for shotguns and bird hunting, aren't we limited to 5 shots on all guns? Cause I know pulling the plug from a pump is t legal.
Just remember it isn't yesteryear and the woods can be full of all kinds of dangerous critters four legged and two legged. I very rarely need more than one shot for a deer but I still top off whatever I'm hunting with along with a sidearm and I don't even hunt public property.I absolutely agree if your taking ethical shots and not rushing you shouldn't need more than 1 or 2.. its pretty rare to be able to get more than 2 shots at a deer anyway if you do miss.. my 270 holds 4 +1 and I have never needed to reload during a day of hunting...I just wanted to make sure I didn't need a plug of some sort
This right here.Just remember it isn't yesteryear and the woods can be full of all kinds of dangerous critters four legged and two legged. I very rarely need more than one shot for a deer but I still top off whatever I'm hunting with along with a sidearm and I don't even hunt public property.
That 3-shell shotgun limit applies to Washington as well....I wonder if that's a national thing?
I don't think I've ever seen anyone surprised by the fact that we can only carry 3 rounds in our shotguns, for hunting purposes, regardless of where they were from.

Right on. Thanks for the heads up, man.Not all states limit you to three rounds for upland game, but three rounds for waterfowl is universal due to Federal regulations. Some states probably just default to three rounds for everything to keep it simple and limit excuses.
