33 people were killed on Portland roads in 2018, compared to the 45 deaths in 2017, and 44 deaths in 2016. Portland's Vision Zero result in 33 deaths in 2018, fewer than past 3 years

Meanwhile there were 32 homicides, 32 homicides in Portland in 2018 involved victims ranging in age from 18 to 89

The 32 killings mark an increase from 27 recorded in 2017 but weren't far out of line with the city's count in recent years: 20 in 2016, 34 in 2015, 26 in 2014 and 16 in 2013, which was the lowest number recorded in 42 years.

Four people were shot and killed by police. Excluding the police shootings, 20 of the remaining 28 homicides resulted from gunfire, one from strangulation, two from stab wounds, two from head trauma, one from torture, maiming and sexual abuse. The causes of two of the people killed have not been released.

So 33 vs 20 or 24 if you count the police.

How many of the homicides were murder where an AR was used?
How many homicides that were murder used ten or less bullets?
How many people were killed by medical malpractice?
How many were killed by blunt objects like baseball bats and hammers?

......and how many of those 20 were bad guys killing other bad guys?

(I notice that they also like to use "homicides" instead of "murders" to increase the numbers reported.)

Some have unknown assailants, so I would have to guess. Also note that out of the 20 shootings, 3 where legitimate self defense:

U-Haul employee shot and killed an armed robber

Tattoo store owner shot and killed a homeless guy threatening him and others with a knife

and the homeless lady who shot and killed a tranny on the street.

That means were are down to 17 Murder/Death/Kills by firearm in Portland for 2018.

MEH, THATS besides the point....THE point is....

1. Assume every car is idling and can move at you at any moment.

2. Never point your car at anything you don't want to destroy.

3. Keep your lead foot off the gas.

4. Know what is in front of your car and what is behind it.

That's actually all correct.

As David Byrne once said...

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

Don't forget that owning a gun is a right.
By the Constitution.
Driving a car is a privilege.
Not a right.
So let raise the age for a driver's license.
Because I will bet that a lot of those killed in car accidents where under 21 or 18 years old

It's very simple .
CAN'T BUY A GUN THEN YOU CAN'T DRIVE A CAR .
AFTER ALL THEY ARE BOTH DEADLY

But one kills more than the other

Time to ban cars in poopland and make everyone use public transportation.

Hey now, be reasonable. Think of the children's!

Start with criminal background checks and finger prints for every vehicle transaction (bought, sold, borrowed or rented) and each vehicle driver. Through a federally licensed vehicle transactor.

Nominal fee per transaction...think of the children...

No vans or minivans! Too much capacity.

No driving on federal property...because, well...umm.

No driving on private property that's posted no driving...because, well...umm.

No driving faster than 25MPH. Ever. Anywhere.

Any vehicle capable of greater than 25MPH should need special $200 tax stamps and much much higher scrutinizing by the Federal Bureu of Drivers.

Any stolen vehicle committing acts of vehicle violence is solely the responsibility of the original owner for not being safely secured...

My take is magazine limits and type of gun won't matter. The UK shows even civilized people aren't above a good stabbing or bolloxing every now and then. Here, what? (fer you Tac).

Apparently Guv Brown has never heard of a revolver or zip gun. Or that murder has been illegal since biblical times. Or most importantly, criminals don't give a fig about stricter gun laws

gas on the left..errr i mean right

jesus, think about all of the registered pre 86 trucks with dual fuel tanks. thats some pretty high capacity which makes them more lethal

and if theyre black, they have the fully semi automatic assault package

BAN!!!
