chop
"Chop chop" is a phrase rooted in Cantonese. It spread through Chinese workers at sea and was adopted by British seamen. "Chop chop" means "hurry" and suggests that something should be done now and without delay. The word "chopsticks" likely originates from this same root. The term may have its origins in the South China Sea, as a Pidgin English version of the Cantonese term chok chok (Cantonese: 速速; jyutping: cuk1 cuk1) which in turn is similar in usage to the Mandarin term k'wâi-k'wâi (Chinese: 快快; pinyin: kuài kuài) or may have originated from Malay.
Thinking about chopping my 20 gauge 26" down to 14" after getting a tax stamp. Cost was only $288 shipped so not chopping up some expensive gun or a classic. If I had known what these were like I would have bought 2 20 gauge and one 12 gauge for that old sale price then it wouldn't matter cuz...
Did a couple of these recently. Figured I'd share. Nothing new or crazy. Started with a pretty standard looking Ruger MkIII 22/45 with the bull barrel. Field stripped and then cut the barrel back to where there was still enough space to re-mount the front sight. 11deg crown was added, and 1/2-28...
Glock 17 gen 4 with a grip chop. Picked this up from Oregon Rifleworks awhile back, they did the work in house as a fun project. Frame, slide and barrel numbers do not match. Fi er front, blacked out rear sights. Will come with one P-Mag. Transfer at J&B, Tigard Pawn or Adaptive Firing...

About 2 years ago I picked up a Bergara HMR in 22-250. It comes from the factory with a 1/9 twist and a #6 contour, 24" barrel.
I immediately changed out the factory stock for a Grayboe Ridgeback. At that point, the rifle was ok, but it was just such a long and heavy rifle for night hunting...
Finished this one up late yesterday. Test fired last night/this morning on my private range. Suppressors and subs make for good neighbors. Didn't even wake up the wife.
Started with a factory Ruger American in .300 Blackout. Nice rifle, but the 16" barrel is not optimal with this cartridge...
I bought a 1897 12 ga. 30" full choke at an online auction. The description said that it had been reblued and had a modern stock and forearm. I figured that it would be perfect to chop up and make a riot gun. There are TONS of old stocks out there to replace the new stuff.
What I got really...
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good shop to take my sam7k to?
I'm looking to chop the barrel and re thread it to accept standard 14x1 muzzle devices.
I would obviously prefer a place that has done this or similar tasks before
Thank you for your recommendations!
