Why no modern(ish) guns or conversions to 7.62㎜ Tokarev?

Nah, I don't think so. It just seems to be one that lives on the border of niche and mainstream in terms of popularity. What doesn't help is that it's becoming increasingly expensive. A few years ago I've heard it referred to as "the poor man's 5.7" but now even the surplus stuff is selling for like $0.60/rd.

.30 Luger? Aftermarket barrels for modern pistols are pretty common. You'd think a hot loaded .30 Luger would approximate a 7.62x25mm.

You could get it to early surplus levels probably, 7.62x25 has about 100fps on .30 Luger as a starting point and goes up to 1600 on the high end.

Yea, if you sub-gun level load it so the primers fall out after two loadings it'd be pretty close to 7.62x25. No big deal.

Out of curiosity, if a reputable manufacturer were to sell a decent modern PDW in 7.62 Tokarev, what would someone be willing to pay for that? I'd think no more than $1k?
