Why everyone needs an assault rifle

Interesting and informative... and very well done!

Various gun control groups are pushing for a national Assault Weapon Ban that specifically targets AR-15s. Does the AR-15 deserve all this hate? Does the argument for restricting "military-style rifle" ownership hold up?

You KNOW it's all about CONTROL, and not about the guns wen the left targets ONLY the so called "Assault Rifles" as weapons of war, when they are used in so few crimes as to not even move the needle, but hey, lets ban them cause FEELINGS!

What they really want is to ensure we do not have the tools of revolution, never mind Grand Dads Ol' Thuddy Thuddy is every bit as effective and FAR more Deadly, it's going after Americas Rifle to ensure we are at every disadvantage!

It is interesting to note that the gun control groups are trying to have it both ways. They speak out against "military style weapons" in public, but a huge portion of their legislative policy is built on banning firearms that do not have "military applications". The entire NFA restrictions on SBX and suppressors was upheld based on those firearms not having any military application, and therefor the 2nd was not implicated in their regulation.

Since Miller has never been reupdated, and indeed has been used as justification for other regulations up to the present time, I would be curious to see how modern gun rights lawyers can use the precedent to protect our rights using prior gun control victories against them.

Anywhere they can fit a prybar and start tearing our rights apart is good enough for them. If something can be made scary, they can convince enough of the public to pass a law and not lose their jobs. Next they need to hold onto as many of those laws as they can until they can do something about the Supreme Court.
