I am an unashamed Trump lover. He took a huge pay cut when he became president. He is as close to a pure capitalist as we will ever see again. I love his sarcastic way of throwing stuff in the faces of the left and I believe we need this to turn the country out of the iceberg field we have been in for decades. He made 1 million dollars into 3.1 Billon in his life all out of his own decisions and intellect. This gun issue is exactly what I predicted it would be weeks ago when all the tin hat wearers here were convinced he would ban there Timmney triggers and AR15's. Trump is a populist (look up that word JRuby) and loves common working people (as they love him) Trump has done a tremendous job in a very short period of time. Every time the left thinks they have him......he wins again. I don't know about the steel terifs but I trust Trump and know the entire federal government was funded by terif's prior to the 16th amendment passed by a socialist president and his cronies. I think Trump's concern over the steel and Aluminum industries are two fold, one is jobs but more important is to rebuild the industries so we don't have to rely on off shore suppliers in case of some world wide event. (That is the definition of national security) He makes very simple off the cuff statements that seem impulsive but in the end, they have been thought out and are on point. His next hat trick will be to get real Nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula. He got little rocket man's attention and the world has figgured out they are not dealing with some squishy Clinton, Bush or Obama weakling. Trump made his fortune dealing with unions and mobsters, I don't see him having many problems with an over weight under developed Korean that was borne into his job.

Nope, the economy went south when Obama started his campaign and badmouthed the economy and screamed doom and gloom. He is the one that caused it.

The wall street banking crisis was a direct result of Bill Clinton demanding that every citizen own a home regardless of income. As a result Congress demanded that banks provide mortgages to people that couldn't afford one. In exchange, they promised the banks that they could bundle mortgages and sell them as stock instruments.

GW started a war because the public demanded it and he was provided faulty info... by the same "intelligence sources" that gave us Trump/Russia collusion. We won the war and lost the reconstruction. I think W's biggest mistake was to think we could succeed in Afganistan when the Russkies couldn't swing it. But again public pressure got us there. W did give us medicare part D, dang it! And he made me ineligable for VA medical. I thank Obama's congress for bringing that back!!!

There was no need to further destabilize the Middle East... ISIS was created out of the power vacuum when Uncle Mo was betrayed.

As a libertarian, I am not into military adventuring nor political interference around the world. But that is a discussion for another thread. This one is for Trump bashing, right?

I think you completely missed the point of my post. I am fully aware of how $$ swing elections in this country and have done so since it's founding. I wasn't presenting a commentary about the good or bad about it, simply addressing the earlier issue raised by another member about concerns specific to the NRA and Trump in this last election.

And yes, I will continue to raise the spectre of the 'what it' scenario about Hillary, because it shows how very close we came to losing this election to a dedicated gun grabber. It seems some folks lately would rather have had her in office than Trump. Sure, Trump is not the ideal candidate, but he is a right bit better than Hillary. So long as folks are free to bubblegum about how much they hate Trump, I'll be just as free to remind them what they could have had, and in some cases, seemed to have preferred.

And I do happen to know who our friends are in political office. Did I say ALL are against us? No, I didn't. I said many. And I'm seeing, as are others, that people that should have been considered solid 2A supporters showing they have a weak backbone when things get tough. Consider Rick Scott. Prior to this last shooting, he was considered solid 2A, now he just signed away 2A rights to certain FL residents because the political heat was too high.

I am simply recognizing a pattern that I see as reality - unless something changes down the road, we're going to continue to lose support for our rights. We are the minority. And I think we're in for some rough years ahead.

There is no doubt the country was under managed decline for decades under both parties. We were one potus away from becoming a third world nation with no border. Today we have a chance but the fight is huge, what ever Trump promised from the wall to the second amendment will be the battleground. The fight will be won with jobs, Trump states will prosper and non Trump states will stick to managed decline.

Even the much revered Harry Trueman was terrible. He didn't make a correct decision after dropping the atomic bombs. If he would have allowed MacArther to finish the job in Korea we would not have had to deal with communist China, Vietnam war or the issues we are still dealing with in Korea. The North Koreans would have been spared 60 years of starvation and brutality and the world would have been a much better place. Stalin had just died, the Cold War would have been much less severe, no divided Germany and communist influence would have been deminished world wide.

We've all read the news articles about the student loan and entitlement spending crisis. LOL....so then, there are some that are "investing" in what sounds like a way out. BITCOIN and the newer initial coin offerings (ICOs).

IMO this country has always lived on the edge. It's primarily the balance of power that our founding fathers designed (you know... those "rich" guys). But it's also the tension between capitalism and the needs of the populace at large. The early unrestrained capitalism was detrimental to our interests but built the country. Today's balance of capitalism/socialism is also detrimental. I have no interest at all in becoming "like Europe". I thought we fought a revolution to stop that crap. Then the 1930s elites and intellectuals began to romanticize German concepts and ideals. It is hard for me that we still have some of that thinking.

There is no doubt that there was a real estate bubble. This was not caused by Wall Street. It was caused by a Democrat congress that started following Bill Clinton's orders long before W became prez. I was a real estate investor, so I knew it was going to happen, just a question of when. I got our in time but put the $$ in stocks. Bad move. But the real kicker that affected Wall Street was Congress not GW. I thought we were talking about Wall Street?

BTW, the insane trend of blaming the person when something happens on their watch needs to stop!!! Really take a hard look at cause and effect instead of such shallow thinking.
