No, democracy is an evolutionary process and the people who receive it must have a culture that embraces it. Otherwise you end up with @sshats electing @sshats. Putin is/was democratically elected. Hitler was democratically elected. It takes a mature society that values the rights of its citizens to make democracy work. It cannot be imposed upon any society especially barbaric societies. We have disguised our imperialism under the banner of democracy and we will eventually learn our lesson but it wont be until we bankrupt our republic that we will learn.
