Browning Buckmark gets my vote. I have about 1000 rounds through mine with 1 misfire. I shoot bulk remington and CCI standard velocity stuff. I can't imagine a more reliable gun that is fun to shoot and accurate to boot.

The title of the thread is "what is a good .22 LR plinker".
To me, a "plinker" means a reasonably priced gun that is fun and easy to shoot, easy to load, and easy to clean.
I had a Ruger mark once. It was a very accurate gun, and very well made. It was also an absolute bi$%h to disassemble and clean, the magazines took forever to reload compared to a revolver, and it was very picky when it came to digesting cheap, bulk-pack ammo. Constantly clearing FTF's and FTE's gets old after awhile.
I would highly reccomend the Ruger to someone who was looking for a target pistol. With the right ammo it is capable of amazing accuracy.
I can also say, however, that my Taurus 94 revolver is a lot more fun to just go to the range and plink with. It will never keep up with a Ruger Mark in the accuracy department, but its much easier and faster to load and clean and being a revolver it doesnt have any issues with digesting cheap bulk ammo.
