There was a stunning refurb of a late 69(?) Suburban on Bring Your Own Trailer a while back. He prostituted it a bit with a lift and some other stuff, but man if anything says FU and your CC scam BS in the non-commercial realm it is a Burb. Grew up as a teen driving my dad's '71 K5 like how you'd expect from a crazy teen. Many lawn jobs in NW Portland.

2006 F350 FX4 Lariat. My daily until some coward douche waffle stole it from me last year. 5 years of building my dream truck. Only had a few details left to button up and it would've been done. Favorite truck I ever owned.

Silverado is the current rig cause I needed a truck quick after the theft.

Man that's too bad, I have a 2019 F350 as my daily (actually have a 1999 escort to fill in between tanks). I've never had a diesel until this one I bought four years ago and don't think I'll ever go back. Power is never an issue, even when towing heavy and the options are more than I deserve. It's all black with matching canopy, custom wheels, leveling kit, and a couple more things done to it. We had a car stolen years ago and it was very disheartening to say the least. Hope your Chevy works out for you as my first new truck (2018 Silverado 1/2 ton) had so many transmission issues that I had to fix it by becoming a Ford guy, LOL.

My buddy has a 2018 350. Ugly power. I had a new engine built for mine and it was no slouch, but the new trucks are just nasty.

I miss mine everyday. It was the biggest kick in the gut coming outside the next morning to head to work and it was just gone. Never felt so violated.

The Silverado is a '21. I can't say it's not nice, what with all the creature comforts. It just doesn't compare to my big tank. I'll get back into another 350, just gotta find THE one.

IMO I think the slightly older trucks are more endearing. Somewhere in the early 2000's the truck formula was perfected. The newer trucks could compete with luxury cars. They're nice, no doubt, but not very "truck like" any more.

My wife bought me a new Titan Pro-4x for Christmas to replace our 2007 Titan. I probably won't sell the 2007 as it has way more character and is more fun to drive. The new one has AC seats, driver assist, heated steering wheel, pano sunroof, makes a Mercedes look cheap....but it's too refined....

A heavy bubblegum 2nd gen dodge. 5 speed manual, club cab, LONG bed, 4x4. Runs like a top, purchased from an old man, has almost as low miles as my wife's 2020 4runner 🤣

I am still driving my 2006 hoopty corolla, over 200k on odometer. I plan on driving it until a wheel falls off. At that point I will put the wheel back on and drive it until another wheel falls off. Rinse and repeat.

At a minimum I want to see the car hit 300k. Supposedly the odometer resets to zero at 300k. After that happens, does anybody want to buy a low mileage on the odometer Corolla?

The only toy I have is a red rocket sports car + one or two pews-pews. :) The sports car will probably go this summer, sadly. Just too much negative attention; everything has changed. Something big with a lot of 'hit the road' space like a van on the radar. Boring but practical.

I am old enough to remember when Japan made cars started to kick Detroit right in the nads. At first it was VERY cheap little cars that were aimed at the people who wanted a new car on the cheap. Did not take long for people to start to see some of these go 100K and keep running. This was shocking to people back then. By the time the big 3 here finally pulled their collective head out it was almost too late. Guy named Deming had a lot to do with this. The big 3 showed him the door when he offered his idea's. Japan embraced them. Now I expect any vehicle to get around 200K at least. Had a Chrysler Sebring for a long time we loved. Finally traded it is when it was becoming a money pit. 175K on it. Engine was still in TOP shape, LOT of get up and go in a 2.7L. Dealer I traded it in with acted shocked the engine had that many. I told him the engine was made in Japan so that was the only part of the vehicle that was not falling apart. When I met Wife she had a Corolla and it had 250K when we traded it in. Needed some pricey work on the front end done. I was fine with the work but thought I would hate to dump that much in and then have engine or tranny go but it still ran like a top. You may very well see 300K on yours.

NICE, if you want to keep that "type" of vehicle but lower the "attention" get one in a more neutral color. We bought a Challenger that we LOVE. Pipes are quiet, color does not stand out but, hit the peddle and that thing takes off like a rocket. Had a few times shocked someone who wanted to play the fool on the highway. :D

Exhaust CUTOUTS on that Challenger recommended. Factory quiet then flip a switch and it is like being at PIR.
When I was a kid we used to have those. Called chain dumps back then. When we bought it the first one we test drove and were going to buy someone had swapped out for something like Thrush or such. I was fun to drive, they have an 8 speed tranny and you could hear that rumble as it shifted through both going up and going down. We may have a shop put some on this one too. Kind of miss that rumble. It is fun to see the shocked look on someone's face when they play games and I pass them like they were not moving though and its so quiet. :s0140:

I was more crude in my youth. In the 80s when I bought a truck or car for about 15% of today's prices the first thing I'd whip out was a hacksaw. A Saab Sonnett III was deafening, as were a roach '65 Malibu, a Fiat 69 spider, and all kinds of trucks and Jeeps. When they'll break down I'd just leave them. Back when all sorts of used cars could be had on Auto Trader for $100-$1500. The F-Type R v8 is about as loud as factory gets now and the blasting startup gives me the same grin now.
