If somebody IS a threat they need to be put somewhere to be observed and or supervised. After their due process. Always after. False allegations should be dealt with as well.

I was never in favor of it really. I just wanted to start a conversation about any potential things from something like this that might be of some kind of benefit? I guess. Probably didn't come off that way. But no I was never a direct supporter of this

It didn't come off wrong to me, I understand where your coming from and think its always good to think thru both sides of any subject, I do the same myself. You get bonus points for asking these questions on a gun forum...

Who is to put you on the list? Who makes the phone call? "Friend"? Family? Neighbor (who you may have had bad "words" with)? Doctor? If/when on the list, how do you get "cleared" or removed from the list?

I have a friend that is in CA. Under Obammakare he fell into a category. The same category that our war veterans are facing that return with PTSD. His own doctor had to report him "by law". Around 45 days later he receives a letter in the mail from the ATF that he is "to no longer possess or be in the proximity of a firearm....." CA took Obammakare and took it one step further.

Horrifying! He has no recourse to "fight" it. He is stuck with it so long as he is in CA.

This is what I see this Bill eventually turning into. Slowly whittle away at the 2A and used against firearm owners.

Oregon has legal suicide, just request it and get lethal meds. Get "end of life" counseling from Obamacare. So it ticks me off that gun control advocates constantly list suicide by gun as a concern. Who are they fooling? Most of them want to off the old, the halt, and the lame anyway!!!

Wasn't a "report your neighbor" law on the Oregon ballot last time around? They keep coming at us. Stay vigilant!

Considering there is already laws on the books that allow due process to take place regarding harassment and threats, I'm not sure we need a new law.

Just got this on a card in the mail today:

I-1491. "Allows police, family, or household members to obtain court orders temporarily preventing firearms access by persons exhibiting mental illness, violent behavior, etc."

And get this, those bubblegumming COUNTY Democrats in my county send out a glossy card telling you EXACTLY how to vote on it YES, as well as YES for Clinton/Keane, Murray, Inslee, yada, yada....all the way down to judges.

Bastidges have the nerve to sign the top "We the People".

They have no original thought now, they are ridiculous, and to me, one of the worse things is they all are fine with Sanders getting screwed.... I think he's an old moronic socialist but his biggest mistake was running in the Dem primary. Or likely the deal was made over a year ago.

Anyone who values the 2A must vote against Democrats. I know NONE will now get my vote, including a high up one in my district who is a nice guy and who I have talked to personally several times, but this is the final straw.
