Just got this on a card in the mail today:

I-1491. "Allows police, family, or household members to obtain court orders temporarily preventing firearms access by persons exhibiting mental illness, violent behavior, etc."

And get this, those bubblegumming COUNTY Democrats in my county send out a glossy card telling you EXACTLY how to vote on it YES, as well as YES for Clinton/Keane, Murray, Inslee, yada, yada....all the way down to judges.

Bastidges have the nerve to sign the top "We the People".

They have no original thought now, they are ridiculous, and to me, one of the worse things is they all are fine with Sanders getting screwed.... I think he's an old moronic socialist but his biggest mistake was running in the Dem primary. Or likely the deal was made over a year ago.

Anyone who values the 2A must vote against Democrats. I know NONE will now get my vote, including a high up one in my district who is a nice guy and who I have talked to personally several times, but this is the final straw.

Brutus Out

Now you know how not to vote. That's pretty much what I did; I went to the progressive voters guide and voted opposite of everything they suggested, except I 732, I actually agree with them on the BS carbon tax (which surprised the hell out of me).

o_Oo_Oo_O I'll have to look at that one again....

I was really sure that they would be for it, but they called it a "Poorly written attempt to pass a carbon tax". They got that right, but are wrong on everything else.

They say that 1491 will "keep families safe", what a bunch of disconnected ........

As I was a Court Security Deputy for the last few years I saw how the restraining order process was abused. I believe that this law would be the same so I am against it. All too often a person is accused of being violent when in fact it is just an attempt to get back at them.

Yeah, I actually have a B*tchy Little Girl from a plane-modeling board who's threatened me with exactly that when I didn't cotton too well to one of his butt-buddies making me his target of abuse du jour.

Sh*tbags like them are why I got out of model-building the first time, and why I'm seriously debating if I want anything to do with it at all anymore after I finish a model of a prof's old F-106 from McChord.

That's it, we've lost! Our own countrymen are now our own adversaries. How sad this sleeping giant sleeps again. Hopefully we will just be in hibernation until mother liberty starts shaking her fist, again.

Just read the initiative all the way through and it really concerns me that polls show that people are supportive of this! Seriously vague language and total lack of due process.

On page six when they are listing out "evidence" for whether or not grounds for an extreme protection order exists, it lists:

"(h)The respondent's ownership, access to, or intent to possess firearms" and "(m) Evidence of recent acquisition of firearms by the respondent"

So basically the person who wants to get an extreme protection order issued against the respondent (gun owner) can do so by just saying that the he/she has a gun!

What the hell?!

Please please get the word out to as many people you know to vote no for this ridiculous initiative.

Just understand the left will always be on offense, putting us on defense and compromising. Until we as a collective can get on offense (Constitutional Carry) or something it wont change.

Got a plan for how to accomplish that, amigo? Most of the Lite Beer Progs we call "Republicans" around here would soil themselves at the thought of losing control and revenue, so it might have to be by initiative.

Speaking of, my own 2A Legislative/Initiative agenda:
--Alaska Carry. (Permit for Reciprocity, but no permit req'd.)
--Codify Castle Doctrine.
--CPL Streamlining. Same term and expiration as drivers license; renewals added on from expiration of existing rather than date of renewal application unless lapsed; renewal gets a temporary paper-card issued good for 30 days from application date or until replaced or revoked, whichever is first.
--Either repeal or streamline our unique Alien Firearms License. ("Streamline" as in, shall-issue, apply by mail, same term as a CPL and grants so-accredited aliens CPL too.)
--Repeal NFA ban; at least change it to an "Offensive/Aggressive Possession" statute like most states rather than Simple Possession.

Anything I've missed?

No Sir, that a much better list then mine. I like the way your thinking.

No idea how to make it happen--I'm not even sure I could sell my old classmate running for State Senate from my district on it, with him being a McCain Winger--but setting some goals is the first step, right? :)

Pretty much every initiative on the WA ballot this year is the same old Progsh*t from The Usual Suspects.

As an autistic myself, +1 to Nick B.'s assessment of parental irresponsibility--if people would put a little more effort into understanding the autistic brain rather than b*tching and whining about how [whiny yapping liberal Human Pomeranian voice] "it's not FAIR my square-peg kid won't fit into the round-hole life I want and I have to WORK!" the world would work a lot more smoothly for all of us.

That includes so-called "Autism Speaks" learning to shut their noise-emitting cornholes and take reports from us on the spectrum who have communication skills into account rather than their dogmatic "you're not a vegetable like my kid so you can't be autistic"... (Pro-tip: it's called "High Functioning Autism/Asperger's." Notable examples include Bill Gates--yeah, I know, we don't like him much here and for good reason--Thomas Jefferson, the man who mentored Churchill and if my Masters thesis I'm working on is right WWII general Douglas MacArthur.)

1491.. Washington state is doomed in many ways.. This could easily make way for a complete gun ban.. Glad to see the ACLU is trying to live up to its name for a change. Civil LIberties..

The measure looks to be passing by a landslide of 71% vote.. This is very bad, as it simply means the government with discretion of any roommate, family member or who knows even close friend have the right to strip you of your 2nd Amendment freedoms even if you have not committed a crime.

All I have to say is this will be struck down in Supreme Court , most likely. And, after a few objectors refuse to hand over their guns, assuming the government will fund a special task force to disarm a heavily armed citizen with no criminal record, I would say the bloodbath that will ensue may end up resulting in an overhaul of this law.

Disarming law abiding citizens has always proven to not be an easy venture in the USA as it has been in other countries. Washington state people are still not ready to throw away their freedoms as Californians have been.

The fact that people hold no weight or care to the Constitution is disgraceful and shows the disregard people have for the laws of our land. People rather just buy into propaganda and vote impulsively based on the scare tactics the fascists in our government will exert on them.

BTW, Tomorrow what is to stop the government from putting on the ballot segregation or racial discrimination laws.. If Washington can be so above the law, then any state can do whatever the hell it wants and the Constitution is just a fancy piece of decor to all the impressive and historic government buildings in Washington, DC.
