Hey so I'm a new gun owner and as excited as I am to go to a nice outdoor range and really learn to use my new shotgun I honestly don't want the first few times I fire a gun to be around a bunch of much more experienced shooters I've got someone who is helping me along the way and we both find the triangle pit to be kinda sketchy what are my alternatives?
Edit: I am in Thurston County WA

I can't believe nobody has died there yet... at least not that I've heard of.
Went there once and would never go back.
Everyone flagging everyone constantly. People shooting propane tanks full of gas.
Tweakers collecting brass around people actively shooting.
It's a total bubblegum show.
Just dive up a forest service road in any national forest until you find a decent back drop. That's what I do.

Also you mentioned Shotgun. please please dont be that guy that leaves his spent hulls. please pick those up. as you will see. Shotgunners tend to be pigs about there spent shells. probably the most things we pickup at clean ups..
I already volunteer to clean trails etc trust me I'm definitely not going to be that guy good lookin out

Yeah since it's so well known I'm honestly surprised no one has died there as well
