I personally would not own one. One of the great strengths of Glocks is the standardization and commonality of parts between models, this departure ruins that.

I don't own or shoot handguns any longer and I LOVED/LOVE Glock pistols and several other Smith and Wesson and Ruger handguns.

So even though I don't plan on buying one - I totally AGREE with what you wrote.

My first handgun was a GLOCK too.

Not a Glock but the Grand Power P40 is a rotating barrel 10mm. Surprisingly smooth recoil for a lightweight pistol in 10.
