Andy makes some really great points. Also important to remember is side by side ballistic data or case studies can be fun but it glosses over the fact that firearms are tools; pure and simple. Nobody is going to buy one wrench, say "This is the best wrench" and then go rebuild an entire engine with a single tool. So each situation and required firearm will probably be different. A .454 Casull might be just what you need to stop that charging bear....and it would be a terrible choice if you were trying to bag a chipmunk dinner.

Think about your environment, the conditions, and the requirements....and then remember the best pistol is the one you have and use proficiently.
