Speaking of Sophomore HS students.......
I know a VN kid (he's a sophomore in HS). He's an American Citizen now. Though, he was born in communist VN, he has been living here since his mother immigrated to America in 2010. His Grand Father (now living in the US) was a "guest" (for several years) of a communist re-education facility, after South VN fell. Of course, all due to his helping the Americans during the war and his opposition to the reunification with the North. BTW, his GF (like many Vets) doesn't like to talk about the war years.
So anyway.....
You'd be amazed about what he has learned in school about the VN War.
Military industrial complex of America as a motivating factor to prolong the war.
Communist nation building desire/reunification with the South.
The killing of peaceful villagers. My Lai.
Bombing Campaign of the civilians of the North.
Can you imagine what those 1st Gen immigrant kids from the Middle East are learning in US schools?
Can I/should I....predict what happens next?
Aloha, Mark
