Here's something a little different. JC Higgins (High Standard) mod 30 with a Weaver 3/4" 4 power scope.

A few years ago, I found this Winchester 1890 languishing in a LGS and noticed someone had been reblued the 1912 manufactured piece so the collector value was nil. I borrowed a bore light and found the barrel looked like a Somali sewer pipe. I decided to rescue it and the shop gave me a pretty good deal. Next, I took it to a very competent 'smith and he installed a bore liner, changing the caliber from .22 WRF to .22 LR. The internals are clean as a pin and it's now a good shooter.

One of my grandsons will get it.

Little man getting setup with his ruger precision rimfire.
Before someone points it out, Yes his booger finger is on trigger we were setting eye relief, lop and riser along with practicing finger placment. no bolt or mag in rifle.

Just picked up my Tippmann Arms M4 22 (top). Put a Sig Tango MSR 1-6x24 on it. Need to get it out and put a couple rounds through it.

I want to build them both to be very similar. Have another Sig to put on the AR.

My FIL was a manager at Woolworth's back when they sold firearms, I'm pretty sure he bought it from his store inventory.
He gave this to me a few years ago when he no longer felt like he could care for it.
It had been neglected so I cleaned it up, but haven't shot it yet.

The BL-22 was my 8th grade graduation gift from my parents in 1972. It has always been my favorite 22. I have never owned any other lever action 22 rifles so I can't really compare but the short throw lever makes follow up shots fast.

That must have been a "thing" back then. My 8th grade graduation present in 1975 was a pump action Remington Fieldmaster 572.

My 8th grade was the next year. I guess 1976 was the year the world went to hell in a handbasket, cuz I got nuthin!
But, I was already allowed free reign with Grandpa's Marlin so I wasn't left out in the cold.

Same here! But it was 7th grade / hunter safety completion gift.

It is my favorite rifle of all time, and I have a ton of nice rifles used in service rifle, long-range, ISSF, smallbore competition as well as hunting rigs ... you name it.

The short lever throw places it in a class all of its own. Keeping your thumb on top of the stock while cycling makes rapid dumping of bunnies and ringing steel so much easier.

I guess I'm a fan!
