Yakima shooting sends four to the hospital

YAKIMA, Wash. – A shooting in downtown early Tuesday morning at the Ingrid Motel has sent four people to the hospital, according to Yakima Police.

No other information about the victims or their conditions is available at this time.

YPD says the shooting began in the 800 block of N. 1st St. but moved away from the motel. Detectives are still investigating and won't say whether this shooting is gang-related.

YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima police are investigating two gang-related shootings from Monday night and Tuesday morning that sent four people to the hospital.

YPD was called to the 800 block of N. 1st Street around 11:30 p.m. on Monday and found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was in an apartment and told police he had been outside with a group of people when they were confronted by multiple suspects. One of the suspects fired several shots at the group, according to the victim.

Another victim was located nearby the first, the 37-year-old man was shot in his upper right leg. Both men were treated for their injuries, which are not life-threatening, at a local hospital.

Less than an hour later, officers arrived at the intersection of Union and Chestnut just after 12:00 a.m. to find a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right leg. This victim told police he was confronted by multiple suspects who asked for his gang affiliation. Shots were fired by one of the suspects.

Police learned of a second victim from this shooting at a local hospital. The second victim, a 17-year-old boy had a gunshot wound to his left arm.

No suspects have been identified for either shooting, detectives are continuing their investigation.
