I going to sell my savage model 11 w/accutrigger.243 I live in Oregon I have been out of the loop in the gun world. I heard that you now have to go through a dealer to sale to a private party or has it not started yet.

Hasn't started. Basically beginning in August you have to go through an FFL dealer.

Private party transfers are legal in Oregon until August 9th when SB 941 goes into effect.

already talked to a friend that is a cop, says they will not enforce it and he was still hoping people would still sell to him without a background check even though he is a cop

So in Multnomah county I imagine our tax dollars being wasted to setup sting operations.

Claim to be an illegal alien. That way not only will you not be charged, they will apologize for having arrested you in the first place.

    August 9th.

it's probably a worthless gun, give it to me and I'll make sure it's properly disposed of as long as it's done before the deadline.
