Hello everyone!!! I have a savage model 110 30-06 with picatiny bases milled into the receiver? Anyone ever heard of that? It is not a varmint or tactical.. It is an older rifle with wood stock and made for hunting. Just curious if anyone has ever heard of it, or knows anything bout it? I can only find a few others on the net and I know they were made before Nov 1995 but that's about it...

Here are some pics found on the net of a rifle exactly like mine.

Yes, Savage made some receivers with integral Weaver pattern bases.

If they are now a Picatinny pattern, someone machined new grooves into them.

It has 3 slots on the front and 4 slots on the back base.... But obviously does not have an accutrigger... In fact the trigger was 7 pounds and we had a time getting it down to 3.5.... So I have seriously considered bedding it and putting pillars in it as well as changing the trigger.. But I wanted to know about it first if it was anything special..
