I just hope they will wear clearly definable uniforms.. target ID is important

Remember the uniforms that the British regulars and officers wore in the Revolutionary war.....the intersecting white crosses made great general area aiming points, for the colonials to aim .50 cal musket balls at them. History repeats itself eventually.

21,000 "advisors and special forces" in 1963

I knew we had advisor in Nam in 1959, I was not aware that it was as early as 1955.

I was talking to a lady the other evening whose husband died over a year ago from agent orange he contracted in Nam. I explained to her how that the Gulf of Tomken incident Gulf of Tonkin incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia was a total and complete lie, she looked like I was crazy.

Once I dug up all the info and showed to her she just shook her head. The people in our gooberment are experts at one thing and that is lying and covering crap up, just out letting would be whistle blowers know they will be dealt with.

The cops in New Orleans certainly obeyed orders to do so

I am thinking that in the beginning that a lot of troops leo's will believe that they are doing the right thing by doing what they are told, but over time will begin to discern that they were used. How long it will take for them to figure this out I do not know, but that is why I believe when sh1t happens it will be big and ole butthead using ruskies, Blue Beret b@stards or what ever will be necessary and over time be necessary to maintain control.

I keep saying it. The coup d'etat happened on November 22, 1963. Kennedy was not going to escalate. He was going to withdraw. The military/industrial complex that Ike warned of made sure that didn't happen. First thing Johnson did was initiate an all out war with N. Vietnam sold to the public via the phony Gulf of Tonkin incident. He was our last president that had any kind of power. The rest have been puppets.

Too bad JFK did not stop the engine of evil.

He tried. He also was doing an "in your face" move with the illuminists with the following executive order 11110 and would have unwound the financial snare before it got it's death grip.

John F. Kennedy: Executive Order 11110 - Amendment of Executive Order No. 10289 as Amended, Relating to the Performance of Certain Functions Affecting the Department of the Treasury

Yep, I believe Ole Butthead will do anything to disarm this country and to implement his agenda, even though he is a puppet, he is a puppet who believes what he is doing is the right thing to do. He believe he is meant to be on a pedestal and we are meant to be his servants.

I hope I am wrong, I pray I am wrong. Now if anyone can explain to me where all of the guns, ammo, armored vehicles, drones are going please do so, even if it by PM. If anyone can give me a better reason why the government is spying on us, collecting data, implementing more and more electronic surveillance systems on us. Installed nationwide cable barriers on the interstates to control traffic. Making GPS tracking law for cell phones, working with the auto companies to put GPS tracking systems into auto's.

Please if you can show me wrong, do so.

Oh, I have no doubt that our current POTUS is leading this country to ruin, via overspending, stifling freedom, and has an agenda that includes firearms confiscation (if he can), increased surveillance, and further dimishing civil liberties.

However, I do highly doubt that we'll be seeing armed Russian troops on US soil anytime soon, other than the occasional soldiers who may come over for training excercises and cultural exchanges.

I believe Ole Butthead and company will do anything to accomplish their agenda, it may not be Ruskies, Chinese, or what have you. But I believe it will be some kind of foreign troops mixed in with some brown shirted B@#(^$@E's.

Yeah we have some LEO's, some military gun ho nuts who would think they are doing the right thing. Look at the way some LEO's step on people rights now and claim they are doing it for the betterment of society. Maybe I am naïve haven served in two branches of service, and such. I believe that most of military personnel even if not in the beginning would in time see they are being led astray. And ole butthead or who ever takes his place will bring in outsiders accomplish what they cannot get American's to do to one another. At least I pray people would and will wake the up.

It never ceases to amaze me how disconnected people can be from the fact that the military is composed of individual human beings. Most of the infantry is very young, and most of the long term guys are conservative and not huge fans of politicians.

Imagine how it would go down if half a million 18-22 year old soldiers found out that Russian soldiers were going to go forcefully take something from their moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and close friends. Imagine how it would play when the late 20s to late 30s guys comprising our elite units heard the same thing.

...and imagine how the LE and military vets and armed civilians would respond to YouTube videos of Russians or "blue helmets" stacking on US doors.

This mess about any foreign forces doing anything on US soil is a joke.

Some of you will want to call me an idiot. Go for it. Revisit this thread in 6 years, and remember who said what.

If there is some sort of natural disaster and I see foreign troops......I will shoot first and ask later. This proves that the present US administration is all socialist. It's coming.....wait for it!

The only reason this government has power is because it has cops and military that just follow orders I don't trust any of them based upon results. The vast majority will shoot you just because they were told to do so.

Cops aren't soldiers. My concern is the guys in charge of the cops don't exercise restraint it seems. It appears they encourage a climate of over reaction, like shoot first and ask questions later. Almost no one armed with even a pocket knife survives and encounter these days with the local gendarmes. And now they seem to think they are above the law and trample individual rights. I think many police are level headed but I think there are a lot more cowboys these days. You can shoot a nearly unarmed person and get away with it as a LEO in many cases but goshforbid you proposition someone, that'll cost you your badge.

This statement is completely ignorant.

LEOs can't and won't shoot unless the same basic criteria is met that we have: Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy. The big difference for them is that they have an obligation to seek contact, while we have the option of running away.

I know and have known a lot of LEOs. None of them would pull the trigger without feeling like they had to. Are there bad apples out there? Of course. There are exceptions. I believe the percentage of police who engage in criminal activity is very similar to the percentage of non-LE who do. It's important to remember that even the bad apples are typically only engaged in small crap, not Hollywood stuff.

People here act like police run around burning people down in the streets. Invariably, guys point out a couple of headline situations from across the country, and act like it's proof that the hundreds of thousands of police in the US are "jackbooted, paramilitary thugs". The same guys will then turn around and call those guys poorly trained, doughnut munching slobs.

Get out of the house. Talk to police. Get to know them. Most are actually good people.

"Get out of the house. Talk to police. Get to know them. Most are actually good people." I agree, but there are a considerable number of incidents all over the country that would indicate a trend. Just head over to Fred Meyer and OC a long arm and see how they react to you exercising your 2nd Amendment rights.

Oh yeah,Except for a few in the Seattle PD, err no wait, a few more...even the Feds thinks SPD was using excessive force.
I am not anti LEO. I know several good cops and respectful LEOS. But I am concerned with the continued militarization of the constabulary and the lack of leadership/discipline in some organizations like SPD.

Brutus,

I think it's important to state that OCing a long arm at Fred Meyer should get someone a greeting from LE. While our rights do (and should) allow us to OC in many places, we are kidding ourselves if we try to describe that as "normal" behavior. It's the same logic that gets someone a visit if they stand outside of a stranger's house for an hour from 2-3AM, staring at the house. Legal? Yeah. Outside of the norm? Yes. In either case, the appropriate action is to make non-hostile contact, and make sure that nothing strange appears to be brewing. If everything checks out, everybody goes their separate ways. If the person acting outside the norm turns out to be fresh out of jail, that greeting becomes fortuitous.

Now, while I don't have a problem exchanging information with any LEOs, things change if that greeting officer expresses an interest in taking anything from me (which is an "if" that won't happen). At that point, it has gone from sensible to a violation of my rights. Asking me to see my ID? No problem. Ask me to turn over my weapon? Nope. Not going to happen.

Examples where anybody says, "go do this unusual thing" are not realistic representations. Those are situations that a lot of us create.

This is coming from someone who is armed 24 hours/day, and guards the right to do so very closely.
