My point is that some of these people are spring loaded to the firing position and there doesn't seem to be strong repercussions for those that do overreact. These "isolated incidents" are happening all over the country and more frequently. What do you think the cop outside of Fred Meyer is going to do if you don't immediately surrender your long arm?' "Down on the ground!!" shouted as his sidearm is drawn and you get popped if you move to slow for HIS preference. But notice how they don't stop the mass shooters? It's the little old elderly couple with an ancient shotgun they Swiss cheese when their no knock warrant goes to the wrong door...served by 24YO and a 25YO cop! Lack os training and lack of leadership.

I remember when pick up trucks had gun racks with firearms and no one hassled them. As a taxpayer all I am asking for is leadership, a little restraint exercised and accountability.

The Obama administration is currently being emo and passive aggressive toward Russia. There have been such poo-poos as suggesting that a summit venue be moved instead of being held in Russia because they're butthurt that Russia is talking asylum with Snowden.

They won't be doing anything except possible training exchange in the US. That kind of thing isn't uncommon.

This statement is completely ignorant.

LEOs can't and won't shoot unless the same basic criteria is met that we have: Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy. The big difference for them is that they have an obligation to seek contact, while we have the option of running away.

I know and have known a lot of LEOs. None of them would pull the trigger without feeling like they had to. Are there bad apples out there? Of course. There are exceptions. I believe the percentage of police who engage in criminal activity is very similar to the percentage of non-LE who do. It's important to remember that even the bad apples are typically only engaged in small crap, not Hollywood stuff.

People here act like police run around burning people down in the streets. Invariably, guys point out a couple of headline situations from across the country, and act like it's proof that the hundreds of thousands of police in the US are "jackbooted, paramilitary thugs". The same guys will then turn around and call those guys poorly trained, doughnut munching slobs.

Get out of the house. Talk to police. Get to know them. Most are actually good people.

We've covered a number of cases here where none of this is true and Stazi minded cops have gunned down the old and young and pets without reason or rhyme

50%? You're clearly feeling generous. Perhaps I should get back to stockpiling nano-thermate and wash my raccoon costume, me and dick cheney are going to dress up like raccoons and go tear up nancy pelosi's flower bed, right after we launch the next false flag attack where thousands of gallons of urine will be dumped into the california aqueduct to bring about the illuminati new world order.

It seems to me all of these predictions about "martial law" involving any foreign power if you want to take them seriously should be seen as opportunities. Whenever you have armed people I don't look at them as targets, but as potential recruits. Are you preparing to fight off the US military that's already here? If you think you're going to even pretend to engage in a stand up fight with the US military you're a damned fool.

Stand up fight? Certainly not!

Russian strategic nuclear bombers taking part in large-scale military exercises flew practice strike missions in the western Pacific on Monday and were intercepted by Japanese fighters, according to Japanese and Russian officials.

The bomber flights were the latest case of strategic saber rattling by Moscow and followed what U.S. defense officials said earlier this year were practice-bombing runs against U.S. and Japanese military bases in the region.

Japan’s Joint Staff said Monday that three Japanese fighters were scrambled to intercept the Tu-95 Bear H bombers that were detected flying north near the Korean peninsula and Japan’s northern Hokkaido Island.

A third Russian aircraft, an Il-20, flew over the disputed Kuril Islands controlled by Russia but claimed by Japan.

The bombers flew over the Sea of Japan for a total of seven hours and 15 minutes, the military said in a statement carried by Kyodo News Agency.

The bomber flight was part of one of Russia’s largest military exercises, which is currently underway.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said the Tu-95 involved in the exercises were carrying “strategic missiles” as part of an exercise and began patrols from their base near Belogorsk “in order to provide strategic deterrence measures over the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk.”

“The total number of troops involved in the inspection of the combat readiness is about 160,000 military personnel, more than 5,000 tanks and armored fighting vehicles, 130 long-range, military transport, fighter, bomber and army aviation aircraft, as well as up to 70 Navy ships,” Maj. Gen. Igor Dylevskiy, a Russian military officials was quoted by Interfax News Agency as saying.

Russian officials said three Japanese aircraft intercepted the bombers along with one South Korean jet.

Russian strategic bombers also have flown close to U.S. air defense zones on five different occasions over the past year as part of an effort by Moscow to flex its strategic nuclear forces.

The bomber flights have been largely ignored by the Obama administration as part of its conciliatory efforts to “reset” relations with Moscow.

The latest Russian bomber incursion took place in April and prompted the U.S. Air Force to scramble two F-22 interceptors near Alaska to chase the bombers.

Russian bombers also ran up against U.S. air defense zones in June and July of last year with a July 4 incident involving two Bear H bombers that flew closer to the California coast for the first time since the demise of the Soviet Union in 1991, when such incursions were more common"

20 million militia vs 1 million (maybe) US traitors in uniform? Not so far fetched at all considering how many vets are out here. The Afghans, Wearing rags and living off goat herds with obsolete weapons have done so..
The Afghans aren't afraid to die and don't have the good TV programs we have in this country. Afghans fight to death, while we make bug out bags to run away and hide in the woods..

I just hope they will wear clearly definable uniforms.. target ID is important

It'll look like MARPAT, ACU, anything with a NATO flag, etc. The OPFOR will be led by the love-spawn of Dick Cheney and Diane Feinstein, adopted by Gov. Jerry Brown.

WASHINGTON – The Russians are showing an increasingly strong presence with an impending naval task force port of call visit in Havana on an official visit. The task force will be led by the Moskva missile cruiser.

The Russian warships then are expected to will visit Caracas, Venezuela and Managua, Nicaragua, underscoring Russia's growing influence in Latin America, which the United States considers to be in its sphere of influence.

Moscow's increased presence in Latin America comes as Iran, China and now North Korea similarly are seeking to expand military, political and economic access to America's Southern Hemisphere countries.

Russian military ties with Cuba were increased after Russian Chief of Staff Gen. Valeri Gerasimov visited Havana in April.

The Russians have been seeking naval port facilities and air bases on the island, just 90 miles from the U.S. coast. Related to this is the deployment of Russian nuclear ballistic missile submarines in the Southern Hemisphere which also could use Cuba for refueling and stocking up on supplies.

Talks also are under way for the Russians to open up a new international airport near Havana and provide the island with Russian passenger planes.

Cuba was the location for a sophisticated Russian electronic spying facility at Lourdes, near Havana, during the Soviet period.

It was capable of intercepting most U.S. communications in the southeastern U.S. There are indications the Russians want to return to Lourdes to reopen its facility to resume efforts to intercept U.S. communications.

In addition, talks are said to include the possibility the Russians will be able to use Cuban airbases to refuel Russian strategic aircraft so they can better monitor U.S. activities, including reconnaissance and communications intercepts.

The Russian naval task force visit follows the recent seizure in the Panama Canal of a North Korean ship with Soviet-era Cuban SA-2 missiles.

Indications are that Cuba still has a stockpile of some 100 of these missiles. The nuclear-capable SA-2s are surface-to-air missiles designed to down aircraft. Indeed, the Cubans used an SA-2 to shot down a high-flying U-2 reconnaissance during the height of the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

U.S. experts have raised concerns that the SA-2s armed with a low-yield nuclear weapon designed to emit more gamma rays than cause destruction could be launched off of the U.S. coast and exploded at a high altitude to create an electromagnetic pulse effect designed to destroy the U.S. electrical grid system.

Such destruction would have a cascading effect on all of the other life-sustaining critical infrastructures that depend on functioning of the national grid, which could result in death and starvation over a wide geographical area.

Such a high-altitude detonation over the highly populated Boston-to-Washington corridor would effectively knock out the Eastern grid and cascade into the Western and Texas grids. The Eastern grid alone services some 70 percent of the U.S. population.

Can you honestly blame Russia for wanting to hedge their bets when they see the madness that is the USA here in 2013?

In general we look like loonie central these days.. and we look weak in terms of "our" leadership..and maybe appearances are not deceiving
