Russ was quick on the nuanced denial (of sorts) in his tweet today.
Jodi Allen's reply last year that Russ made it clear he wanted a new start tends to underscore that Sando's article probably has the most truth in it.

Yea that Wilson denial is "I never said it". Yea I'm sure he personally never said it but his huge entourage of paid coaches, agent, team 3, etc around him did I'm sure. Sando is a stand up guy. I've corresponded with him a few times and he is obsessed with getting his articles accurate and he is not a hype guy at all. The late John Clayton, Dave Boling (formerly of the Tacoma news tribune), Mike Sando are all guys of super high integrity imo.
