Ruger already makes a neo M1 carbine version of the 10/22.

They need to get it right with the first Ruger-Marlins that are released, regardless of caliber or model. At this point in time, their first offerings will set expectations for all that follows. Ramping up production takes time and starting with a heavy hitter like 45-70 means they might actually be able to keep up with initial demand. Not even possible if their first offerings were in .357 or .44mag.

Whatever they build...
Quality is a must.
Marlin and quality were a ways apart for a while....enough to cause a breach of trust.

I would love to see a line of some of Marlin's classic lever guns...
And a quality build of the Camp Carbine.

I have a friend who has an original, early Winchester '94 with a 14" barrel in .30-30.

Reality being what it is a 16" is a very handy length and no stamp required. (Having owned one).
I have a 16" saddle ring win94 trapper in 30-30 and I love it.
I got a screamin deal on a glenfield Texan and immediately realized that a slightly shorter Marlin was the thing I really wanted.
Just never see em.
