Pardon my ignorance of this, but When Recalling a senator or member of the house, are the Signature's only allowed from the District the represent????

In all my voting, I have only seen Colorado do a recall, and other than the Outcome, I did not pay much attention...

Please Clarify for all of us!!!

philipism for the day, give them Two Terms a short on in Office, a Long one in Prison!

California recalled a governor in 2003 I believe. They happen but are rare. If we make them common over votes like this, we can do some serious damage to politicos and make the ones that AREN'T recalled think twice so that they don't get in the same situation.

Yes, to sign the petition you have to be a registered voter in the district of the person being recalled. You have to sign the form exactly like you have on your voter registration. The elections department checked every signature just like when you do a mail in vote.

Yeah? Well good luck with that.
The liberal vote-Democrat-by-reflex low information voters along the Willamette Valley from Portland to Salem and Eugene will outnumber you unless EVERY GUN OWNER IN THE STATE turns out to vote against her.
You know how hard that's going to be simply by being a member of this forum.
You've got some people here who will talk a lot and vote not
There are others who will vote FOR her (they are part of the vote-Democrat-by-reflex crowd, despite the threat that poses to their gun rights) thinking "it'll never happen" or actually believe that gun registration isn't so bad.

The time to start working on this is right now.

Hey Dave, if you do a story on this can you avoid everyone else and contact us rather than Alan at SAF or Kevin at OFF? Main stream media is trying to make this ONLY about gun rights so we fit the "extreme right wing" excuse. Alan and Kevin both do good stuff, but they don't represent us.

I have been doing some thinking and soul searching on this. The consequences of being dragged into dirty politics and what not and I just come back to the fact of what's the worst that can happen? I will be spending tomorrow on getting the ducks in a row and the facts in place. After that I guess I will see how this works out, I am a bit freaked out about it but at this point I do not care.

I took an oath, even if it wasn't for much. Looking at it I realized I have just been compromising myself on everything. You could probably search back and see how I contemplated on leaving MY State, the state of Oregon. That is bogus. Why should I be the one thinking of fleeing an oppressive government that I took an oath to defend? No. I am done being a coward. Will there be consequences? You bet. But to be honest the Kitzhaber stuff was miniscule to the fact that my own brother could be disarmed as a minor so he could be killed by someone that we put away. I'm done hiding. It's time.

Sent from my phone since I haven't been able to sleep after some thought.

Eta: Senator Gelser, take notice we don't take money from Bloomberg for anything. We have our own and we protect our own.

The worst they have done so far is call us the extreme right wing gun lobby. If we get the signatures then he runs against himself. Hard to make us look bad when we are not in the race.

Let me know if you want to go forward

I'm just a guy, I think people should simply do whatever they want until they end up hurting someone else. That is freedom, no one should have it stifled, no one should be in fear of speaking there mind, or be afraid that some huge media conglomerate will destroy them. The fact is most people are afraid to get involved in politics because they have a family, a career, people they value and are afraid to be looked at differently because of the media perception.

Luckily or unluckily I don't have all of that, I do have a family thing I have to attend to for a couple days. But I have printed out the forms, have been researching the pacs, have started a gofundme and in general am ready to get down to business. The unfortunate thing is I am a perfectionist so everything has to be perfect. Also Gelser has not been in her office for the 6 months required so I have to wait until that exact day so I can file. By then websites will be setup as well as stations to sign the necessary documentation to make her life miserable!

Is the Libertarian party silent on the issue? Since they pulled 3000 votes away from Bruce Starr, I would assume they hold some sort of responsibility. Afraid I can't say that I know too much about Libertarians. Are they also for population control like the liberals?

Not to stray off topic, but no, libertarians aren't for population control. The idea is that society can self-organize and prosper without the threats of politicians and bureaucrats.

The fact is there should not be a label on it. No democrats, no republicans. Just people who want to be free, that's the thing about guns! It bridges a gap between people, doesn't matter the politics, doesn't matter what you believe in. In fact it only matters when these types of things happen, so my question is why does it take this to bring us together? It's just the human condition is the only logical thing I can think of.

sending you a message on some very important stuff you should know before starting.

What is the reason "WHY THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE" was enacted. They probably knew that the opposition would somehow get a stay & their hopes to criminalize law abiding gun owners and not the criminals would be squashed.

Hello everyone. I am trying to promote my website: <broken link removed> Good website to help you know gun laws in Oregon including but not limited to: concealed carry laws into other states and disqualifications from owning firearms.
Not now please.

What is the reason "WHY THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE" was enacted. They probably knew that the opposition would somehow get a stay & their hopes to criminalize law abiding gun owners and not the criminals would be squashed.
It's pretty simple, they wanted to slam this through because they have a majority. That and Bloomberg bought the votes.

Let me know how to help out. I'm in Cedar Hills. I can continue to financially send in bucks to OFF. tkdguy

CO needed almost $100,000 purely on court costs defending their legitimate recall in court from the government because the Antis didn't want to lose power. That's in addition to all the other expenses, fees, accountants, websites, media, flyers, etc.

Sending a signature sheet to every FFL in the district would
be an easy way to help gather signatures.

once we get our forms, we will have drive and sign events. So people can stop by the shops supporting us and sign the petition (plus do some shopping to support our LGS if they want)

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for the Bloomberg-backed committee that helped elect Riley and push hard for SB 641 this session, Everytown for Gun Safety, said the recall efforts amounted to "the dirty tricks of the gun lobby."

Total BS, this was a grass roots recall issue that was only picked up by "The gun lobby" (aka NRA) after OFF & other individuals had already made their voices heard & got the ball rolling. And as for the AstroTurfers at Every Town, they are the ones that use "Dirty Tricks" like lying, omitting the truth & waving the bloody shirt of victims to take advantage of emotional sentiment to push for consolidation of power & erosion of individual liberties.

All funded by the bank roll of the chief proponent of the nanny state Bloomberg, who has been buying politicians & new overreaching privacy invading draconian legislation in every state possible.

How is this even possible?!' It should be treason for out of state & foreign funds in local & national politics. Basically allowing foreign interests to effect campaigns & legislate by fiat & usurping the nation & therefore the people.

The anti-recall letters are starting to hit the news papers. If you havent yet, send off a letter to the editor of your local news paper on why you support the recall. This isnt just about guns and background checks. This is about legislators taking huge amounts of money from out of state donors to push their legislation without listening to us.
