Thanks for post and bumping it. I will check the serial on my FNS 40. I bought an FNS 9 slide assy to run on my FNS40 frame, I wonder how I can check whether it would have the same problem?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is the scenario like this?
1. another BGC for the same gun I already own just to get it back from repair
2. another fee for the BGC
3. another (probably) 14 day hold
Not to mention a 30 day turnaround from what I read..

My understanding was that you didn't have to do a BGC when you are receiving the same firearm back from the factory?

Thanks for the heads-up! My son-in-law has an FNH FNS40. He was pleased to find out about the recall and will be shipping it ASAP.

I've mailed several guns back to manufacturer (thru Fedex) and when repaired the company returns directly to sender, not thru an FFL. It's unlikely you'll have to go back thru an FFL unless your state or locality requires it.
