Has there been any thought about letting our fill in governor know that she is only temporary and that she will be facing voters next year. If she tramples on Oregonians rights by signing this into law she might as well start packing her bags. The voters WILL REMEMBER HER if she does not veto this illegal and un constitutional bill.

Yeah? Well good luck with that.
The liberal vote-Democrat-by-reflex low information voters along the Willamette Valley from Portland to Salem and Eugene will outnumber you unless EVERY GUN OWNER IN THE STATE turns out to vote against her.
You know how hard that's going to be simply by being a member of this forum.
You've got some people here who will talk a lot and vote not
There are others who will vote FOR her (they are part of the vote-Democrat-by-reflex crowd, despite the threat that poses to their gun rights) thinking "it'll never happen" or actually believe that gun registration isn't so bad.

The time to start working on this is right now.

I like the idea of being able to print and mail my own signature sheet on the website. But I thought someone said there are strict issues with things such as the weight of the paper used. Was the true or a joke?

The paper people use to print the signature sheet at home just needs to be white standard printer paper. The color and weight and size of the paper a signature gatherers uses has to be approved. There was a recall done in the past and they used shiny paper and the elections department threw out all the signatures the collected on that paper. It has to be colored paper if the signature gather is paid.

I've been reading that there has never been a successful recall in Oregon. I came across this site that said there have been three.
1935 Rep. Harry Merriam
1985 Rep. Pat Gillis
1988 State Sen. Bill Olson
My source of information is <broken link removed>
I'm going to do some research on this later to see if it's true.

There was never a successful recall in Colorado, or anywhere else for that matter, until there was. It means nothing.

Colorado did not even have rules in place for a recall. We have a complete printed manual on exactly what we have to do. They were sued multiple times just trying to collect signatures since there were no rules on how to do it. They even had to instruct the elections department on how to verify signatures.

We are miles ahead of where colorado had to start. If they can get through all that and be successful, we sure can.

I dont believe we got approval on our signature sheets in time to start gathering signatures. So no meeting this weekend. As soon as I hear we have the go ahead we'll get something arranged.

It sure is funny seeing articles written about us. It was crazy to see the Brady Campaign labeling this a gun lobby effort. This is a citizen effort. There are no big lobby people that are even close to being involved in the behind the scenes effort so far. It is just you guys and us.

Im here writing this right now simply because the people who supposedly represented me ignored my requests for a response about why my C&R license had to be made null and void by this bill. I would probably be out shooting right now if I got even a simple response. Even a damn form letter is better than nothing.

No its not the gun lobby that started the recall. Its the legislators who forgot they work for us and not some billionaire on the other side of the country.

You can print off the paper donation form and mail it in. The link is right above the electronic payment form.
Yup saw that and I'll take that into consideration. If you have a paypal account the only thing you have to do si list the e-Mail address for people to use to send you donations, no links, no buttons, no nothing. But anyway, thanks much for your efforts, I've been posting link to your recall website here and there and will continue to do so.

Unfortunately paypal wont work for this. There are strict state finance reporting guidelines and paypal fails horribly for what we need. It would be better if we got zero donations than use paypal.

With anedot.com we dont see anything more than contact information on our side.

I also dont want to make anyone feel uncomfortable either. also a donation to OFF is great too.

Our recall is out of planning and up and running..... Major Snip, for clarification:

Pardon my ignorance of this, but When Recalling a senator or member of the house, are the Signature's only allowed from the District the represent????

In all my voting, I have only seen Colorado do a recall, and other than the Outcome, I did not pay much attention...

Please Clarify for all of us!!!

philipism for the day, give them Two Terms a short on in Office, a Long one in Prison!

I have been doing some thinking and soul searching on this. The consequences of being dragged into dirty politics and what not and I just come back to the fact of what's the worst that can happen? I will be spending tomorrow on getting the ducks in a row and the facts in place. After that I guess I will see how this works out, I am a bit freaked out about it but at this point I do not care.

I took an oath, even if it wasn't for much. Looking at it I realized I have just been compromising myself on everything. You could probably search back and see how I contemplated on leaving MY State, the state of Oregon. That is bogus. Why should I be the one thinking of fleeing an oppressive government that I took an oath to defend? No. I am done being a coward. Will there be consequences? You bet. But to be honest the Kitzhaber stuff was miniscule to the fact that my own brother could be disarmed as a minor so he could be killed by someone that we put away. I'm done hiding. It's time.

Sent from my phone since I haven't been able to sleep after some thought.

Eta: Senator Gelser, take notice we don't take money from Bloomberg for anything. We have our own and we protect our own.

You know just from a tactical standpoint, a recall is a no-brainer. We should absolutely do as many as we can in districts that are even partially close. At the worst, we lose, but cost them money and time that they could be using to get re-elected. Draining their funds and forcing them to focus on OUR issues takes time and money from anything else they do. This is a long term fight and recalls are the IDEs of the process. I am all for them.
