Revolver jammed with a live round

If it is a free floating type firing pin that's, founded in the frame the hammer moving would not indicate if it's stuck or not. Mabey run a feeler gauge between the breach and the shell .see if it goes through

Firing pin is integral to the hammer.

Do you have a soft face dead blow hammer? Or even a plastic mallet.
Need to hold the latch in the open position and lightly tap on the cyclinder to open it up.
Make sure the fp isn't stuck in the spent primer.

That's what I was trying with the table.

It might be a scwib that stuck between the cylinder and barrel. I had it happen and did not hear it do to have ears on and hard of hearing.

Just ran the cleaning rod down the barrel and measured, it's a squib.

If it's lodged tight get yourself a brass rod. Coat it with several wraps of black electrical tape ( tape protects the rifling) Tap it back down into the cyclinder.

Had one of those.

Little tapping to get bullet back out of forcing cone and she cleared right up.

I'm guessing a no powder charge, but I weighed the finished rounds three at a time on a digital scale and didn't see anything light by 6 grains.

try putting them in a tray and inspecting in batches with a flashlight before seating, if you have a missing charge or a double, it sticks out like a sore thumb

I shot all but the squib and one extra that was in the cylinder. All normal.

Even with lead 44 mag rounds, I wouldn't have done a follow-up shot, but had I been shooting doubles, that would have been completely different.

Can you soak the entire gun or at least the primer in something that will deactivate the primer or contaminate the powder to prevent a discharge? Soak it in some penetrating oil maybe?

First concern is to prevent the round from firing.

Then address how to open the cylinder. Do it all at the range pointed in safe direction.

But they can double and simulate FA! My 500 did
