Is purchasing a handgun in Oregon (he'd be the 1 buying it when he comes up here) for a retired LE officer any different than a regular Joe blow? I told em I think he could buy it here but he has to have it transfered to his home state of Nevada via FFL's. Is that correct? He can walk away with a long gun but not a handgun I guess is my question.....

I think the only perk they get like that carrying, never heard anything about buying.
So yeah I think you told him correctly
Military gets to buy handguns with their papers
(Someone else can name the papers:eek:):D

If he is a retired Law Enforcement Officer and he got his LEOSA card from his previous employer he can carry concealed anywhere in the country, with a few exceptions. He can get discounts on some guns through limited dealers. Other than that I do not know of any other perks that being retired offers.
