Wait till next week.

You and I are different. I long for the time when you would teach someone respect when it was clear someone else hadn't.

Respect at the point of force is not respect it is oppression. You cannot force respect only fear, fear is not respect, though it may make people act more respectfully they will likely be loathsome which is not respect.

The congressman had a couple of choices to make.

He could of just ignored the students and kept on walking.

He could of stopped and asked who he was talking too. If he did not get an answer he could have kept on walking.

He could just assume that he has some higher authority granted to him that allows him to assault some person on the street for asking him a question.

So ... this has turned into a left/right repub/dem debate again...

And another one bites the dust! Yeah!
It amazes me how many of the current crop of Congressional members have to resort to unethical or illegal tactics when queried about their actions, supposedly "on behalf" of the country and their constituents.

The agenda(s) of some may doom them all.
We can hope right?

wait a minute... i'm lost. I cant discern what's sarcasm or not through text, but are you saying that you are AGAINST oral sex?!?!?!

Ya know what, I knew for a absolute fact that this type response would come from our more liberal friends, not finding a thing wrong with this type of behavior from a sitting president of the United States...Thanks for proving me right.....:s0155:

Public figure, blah blah. there's a right way and a wrong way to get things done.

Who exactly is in charge of determining what the right way is? It seemed to me that the kid asked a perfectly legitimate question of an elected official. Not really sure what was wrong with what he did.

The, looks drunk to me too, congressman owed this punk nothing and the punk kept at it.

An elected official doesn't owe a citizen an answer as to his political stance? Hmmm. I think the elected official does owe a political explaination to a tax paying citizen. Maybe it's just me?

Of course the congressman wanted to know who he was talking to. He has as much right to know that as the kid did to ask his question. I'd say the congressman's right to know who he's answering to had more bearing that the kids in this instance.

Could you site where in the constitution, or anywhere else, the law states that a congressman has the right to know who a person is? I missed that also.

I don't for a minute think he handled it correctly but I'm not about to convict him on what I just saw like most of the reast of the collective you who's posted in this thread.

This is just another example of the current, and seemingly dominant political opinion. If the elite politician doesn't like something, they use force, whether political or in this case physical, to run over the citizen.

Nice try at a deflection. FAIL! You chose propaganda because it suits your purpose. That purpose is to deflect attention from the real story!

Perhaps you missed Cheeto's post since Democraticunderground was not here to tell you to click the link. Even though it was only 2 posts above mine I will do the socialist thing and "hand out" the link to you.

<broken link removed>

Thats a long list, I'll only do the first few that seem wrong.
2nd entry Brock Adams, never arrested as the post shows and never convicted as is implied.
3rd entry (no pun intended) Sam Adams, he is openly gay before election, he is not married, his partner was 18 years old and willing, and no civil charges were ever filed.
4th entry, Gary Becker, Becker pleaded to lessor charges however, the whole sting operation run by the gov has been in question, he was found guilty of intent, I remember this case, it's a though call!
5th entry, Rod Blagojevich, again no charges were filed for any affair so no crime.
Bill Clinton, again no sexual crime was done, consenting participants, the GOP had fun with this and ran after it rather than helping run the country for about a year, sort of the same bs they have been pulling for the last year and a half, a party of do nothings.
Lets jump to the 12 entry, Barney Frank, He openly admitted this hireing of an X male prostitute who did run a ring from his house, he fired him when he found out.

Heres a list about as wacko back at ya!

"George W. Bush, Republican president, accused in a criminal complaint and lawsuit of raping Margie Schoedinger, who later committed suicide. Accused by Tammy Phillips, a former stripper quoted in the National Enquirer in 2000 saying she had an affair with Bush that had ended in 1999.[21][22]"

Yeah quoted in the Enquirer, lol.

WHOA WHOA WHOA. Don't go all G-Dubya on me and start making things up. Just because it's in your mind, does not make it true. I never once said I approve of his behavior. He's a married man and I disagree with any sort of cheating. You were saying that its bad that he taught a whole generation of teenagers that oral sex is ok (guess what, they actually learned it elsewhere before he did anything - i know, i am 24 now, i was a teen then). Fact is, I remember when this happened, and everyone in school was calling him a pimp. So its not like he taught us something new. You are mistaking my comment as a "Pro-bill clinton actions with that woman, Ms Lewinksi" when in fact it is more of a "Pro Oral sex" comment. My point is that there is nothing wrong with Oral Sex, unless you're cheating on someone. Oral sex is awesome. I like it. Feels good. Try it sometime. :s0155:

You realize the highlighted statement just made Cheeto's point for him?

I didn't say I was calling him a pimp. Just a lot of people were, from both sides of the party. I have been and always will be against cheaters of any kind, in any party, of any race, age, sex, or religion. I dont care who you are. A cheater is a cheater and they are consciously and purposefully hurting a loved one. The only thing that statement does is provide insight to you old folks about the mentality of teens. That has nothing to do with party affiliation.

It didn't matter if you did, that was by your own admission the general consensus of teenagers thus you made Cheeto's point.

Words an actions have meaning.

I always thought that acts of wrong were to be judged on their own merits. This politician clearly did something wrong and the post was about what he did wrong. I'm sure all over the internet are forum topics about what all these other politicians did wrong. That doesn't change the fact that this was wrong or make it any less wrong. It is not right vs. left. It is right vs. wrong. Clearly assault, clearly wrong.

It never fails to amaze me to hear people on pro-gun sites defending liberals who would ban their right to own firearms. If there was Republican that was anti gun there is no way I could stick up for them no matter what type of deviant they were, or straight.
