Ramping Up; what are your hunting season preparations?

Went down South near the coast to spend opening day of bear season. Lots of land closed-off for fire restrictions.

No hair, but lots of scat;witnessed a gorgeous sunrise..


Had a great weekend.; this dude followed me around..

Went to the local gun and bow shop to trade off my bow.Shoulder just hurts too much too often to trust it if a animal walks by.Does this every year or 3.
Have a new Vaquero waiting for my new hunting carry gun.45 colt btw.
Went to the fish and game. They said next month I'll have residency and I can buy my tags cheaper.
No way I was gunna pay non resident prices (10 times resident costs)
May not get a good elk tag but I can still ge a deer fairly easy I hope.
Making friends with some of the locals.Some have farms around here.I'll work for hunting privileges

Weather is turning on Friday afternoon; my favorite time to be in the woods is precip and a drop in temps after a hot and dry spell. The afternoon thunderstorms that occur in the late summers @ the Southeastern states were especially fun.

Looks like this year's archery opener will be another one of those wonderful times..
