The gas block was too far forward think I got it right now but got to wait till I can get up the mountain or to the range

The gas tube should have been attached to the FSB via a small pin. If you moved your gas block back, the gas tube would have also moved into the upper receiver. There must have been a fair sized gap between the BC's gas key and that gas tube, in addition to the gas port being blocked by a misaligned gas block!

I do, the whole series of AR books by Patrick Sweeney. I think there are 4 volumes. Read those 4 and there is no way you won't have a better understanding of the AR platforms
