The way most of you responding sound as if you are drinking Salem's tainted water. This is pure foolishness uttered by men that have no vision.
Your vision is worldly. I would have assumed from some of your other postings you would have a less anxious perspective on what is just around the corner.

If me or you commit a crime, I'm pretty sure they would separate our kids from us.

I'm pretty sure the United States should be the last country that comes to mind when anyone says the words "child internment camps".

But I guess it's a new day and things change. Used to be people would get really upset if anyone tried to work with North Korea or Russia on any policy too, and now our dear leader raves about how much they love their countries.

But I'm old, so I guess I just see things differently.

Used to be people would get really upset if anyone tried to work with North Korea or Russia on any policy too...

So we should not be work with them on any policy, ever? The people in question must've been pretty stupid then and we should be glad that them being upset is increasingly irrelevant.

I don't think we should work with people who interfere with our election process or threaten to nuke us, no.

Again, I'm old fashioned that way, but you know how it is. Anyone with a D next to their name that says Kim Jong-Un loves his people or Putin didn't hack our elections would be greeted with a mob of "good people on both sides" (lol) immediately after saying it.

But because we have a good, righteous man like Trump in the White House, then it's ok. Because he's a great deal maker, right? Those aren't lies he spouts every time he's on camera, those are deals.

"We should go after their families." And people like you are ok with that, for what reason I can't possibly fathom. But it's ok because Trump said it.

And when he creates the Space Farce, and makes millions in the process, that will be ok too even if the final product is about as real as the wall.

Christ almighty son, come on now.

You've just convicted yourself of being both ignorant and illogical.

The ignorance part: The election hacking thing is in essence a fairy tale. No one who looks into it with any real depth continues to buy it.

The illogical part: even if the election hacking thing were true (and only ignorami and/or liars claim it actually is) ... so then there's like 100 countries in the world that should never work with us on anything, ever again?

How would our conflicts/disagreements with anyone get solved without diplomacy? The only options in your book to getting past wrongs (real or imagined) are to cut off all ties forever or go to war? If that's the case you should be all about this Space Force idea. You're doing so much tap dancing you don't even agree with yourself anymore.

And people like you are ok with that, for what reason I can't possibly fathom.

Who are "people like me" exactly?

I don't like trump because he has not been pro 2A, but you sound like a full blown case of TDS .

I believe the Space Force will be a "militarized" form of NASA (even more than it is today). The US Air Force should be limited to the exosphere of the planet and The Space Force will be both the expeditionary and military branch reaching into the final frontier. (Let's abandon the Sci-Fi jokes and treat this with the same honor we provide the other five Military branches).

Thank you.

Here is something to ponder.

US mil/gov never reveals something they do not/have not had in the works for a long damn time. The black budget is huge, and this may just be a way to make that black budget gray.

We no doubt have a lot of the tech already, Groom Lake aka Area 51 is a hotbed for UFO stuff, stuff that is more likely than not advanced air/space craft developed for the US military. And its not just being developed in Nevada.

NASA is already quasi military, few astronauts are civies, most are USAF, USMC, OR USN vets. Their public and military missions are joint but seperate. We do not know everything NASA does or why.

I see NASA and USAF Space Command combining, pulling certain assets and missions from other branches with them. ODPs (orbital defense platforms) would be easy to get up there.

Space X could well be the new prumary civillian space agency, and i bet the gov will be utilizing tech they develop and build.

The money and personnel are already there, its a matter of disclosure, and making it publically official

DARPA Falcon Project - Wikipedia
Oh looky, more classified DARPA /USAF programs that could be a basis for Space Force programs

This will likely be classified under the auspices of the Space Force. The new branch of the military will permit the current Air Force to concentrate on air-to-surface conflicts (along with the Navy and Marines) while the Space Force will concentrate on orbital weaponry and space exploration.

It is the smart move.

[truncated mini-rant aborted]

I support a formal 'space force' with a defined mission and publicly acknowledged budget, etc. Ideally, it would be administered in part, by seasoned bureaucrats from such as the EPA/DeptEducation/etc who would be required to volunteer for all/any initial 'first manned mission' to anywhere. Only by successful completion of such mission would an actual managerial role become possible.

Whether the 'Exploration' wing or the 'Defensive' arm of the Space Force, there is a credible role just as new technology discovered need for IT specialists.
