Aint much but it's 200 yards today with the 6.5. The 50 & 100yd targets were more or less one ragged hole. Started to open up at 200 though a little. Still 1/2 MOA. Factory loads.

Put a little more angle on the dangle (75 deg) and patched up the stand.

A DIY dueling tree is next on the list.
I like shooting steel.
My gong stands are much bigger to keep shrapnel and errant shots away from the legs.
Here's a pic of the "end frames" that use a 2x4 (6 ft) top rail and 1" EMT (5ft electrical conduit) legs.
1/4" AR500 plate

And for even more fun we'll add a 1x6 to the top of the 2x4 (think shelf) for water jugs, 2 liters or bowling pins.

I'd need a bigger tactical wheelbarrow for larger stands.
They hold up pretty well so long as you hit the target....
Took new shooters out and that was the end of that.

From now on they can just put more holes in this instead.

We set up for pistol so it's only 50-60 feet from the rigs.
Using the end frames shown above and with the hitch pins on the EMT (note holes in end frames), we do the entire assembly at the rigs and one guy can walk it down range.

There are also end frames that use all 1" EMT but I find I like the 2x4 top rail for the shelf feature mentioned above.
1" EMT is the sweet spot, light in weight but has the stiffness for holding steel targets. Better than 3/4" EMT and much better than rebar.

Left to right
8" plate rack
Railroad bearing plates on chain (note 1x6 top shelf)
PVC stand
10" plates (now a normal 6 plate rack)

I have to hump it all in and I already have plenty to drag up the hill.
Table, chair, ect..

Less time to break down and be exposed on the line as well.
Once people start showing up I call it a day and pack it up.

This made a good hanger. Just need a truck to pack it around.

Still have it out back, just need to re-rig it for the plate I have now.
Hmm, would make a good base for the tree too.

I ROed a shooting party for about 15 friends.(no pics)
We had 3 failures to feed on EDC weapons and I had to teach a type 3 malfunctioning drill.

No injuries, no NDs, one safety violation and one procedural violation.

Know your EDC and practice, a lot.

years ago I was in a concealed carry class of about 40 people all using their own private pistol; the live fire portion included about 100 rounds downrange under various commands;

At the end of the festivities the instructor came over to check out my pistol, as "This is the only one I've seen today that didn't have some kind of issue preventing a 'fire on command' "......what IS it???

....just a standard P35, no mods....:D

Jeez man I really wanted to go grab a target and poke a bunch of holes with a pencil all snuggled up close together and mark 200 yards on it, .22LR. But I didn't.

That would have been classic...a precision smiley face would have been great!

Regarding poking holes, I have only been shooting pistols for about 3 years. I remember the joy of purchasing my first pistol (XD9sc) and throwing lead before I got any training. Here was my first target:

Then came a little training...

Gotta work on that low to the left grip thingy :)

Starting the next leg of the journey this weekend with an action pistol class.

Did a little shooting this last weekend. First chance I have had to really try out the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16 on my Ruger Precision Rimfire. leMtc4fZQry7MBmszHbGvg.jpg

Where did you purchase these?
