Sorry for your loss. I've been through it many times over my 68 years. I've never had a replaceable dog. I've had lots of really good dogs though. After saying good-bye to a really good dog the house always seemed really empty and needed the sound of paws on the floor, tail sweeping everything off the coffee table, dog breath, and all the other great stuff about a dog. Though the new friend never takes the place of the old one, there is the fun of building that relationship that you can only have with a good dog.
