Built mostly in August but completed today. Carport number two, this one for my '72 Ford Ranch Wagon. About 50% recycled materials. The crushed rock was the single most expensive material component.

The roof material consists of metal panels salvaged from a boat shed in the Everett marina. They aren't designed for such a low pitch roof so I sealed the seams with silicone sealer. We just had a heckofa thunderstorm. I went outside and checked after a period of heavy rain, no leaks.

I'm well on the way to completing a 1940's era Express Refrigerator car in 1/32nd scale - Gauge 1 - to run between my Royal Hudson loco and the passenger consist...all scratch-built using scaled drawings provided by a fellow Gauge 1-er in Ottawa.

Floor to ceiling 79" wide shelves (torsion boxes). It pales in comparison to other stuff I've seen posted here - some real craftsmanship. For me, I was just happy to see it all square and level ;).

Those are awesome. What welding process did you use?
Thanks. Certainly not the same techniques as @Tomahawk67. He's got the mad skills and could probably weld a dick on a snowman.

I, on the other hand, am a rank amateur. Finally retired and got some oxy gear and a MIG 135 "booger blaster." That was MIG on stainless spoons/legs with steel heads, beaks and tailfeathers.

I've made three beers disappear, a bucket of .556 swaged for .223 AND made a flathead screwdriver and a tape measure into bottle openers... tried to use a plug as a bottle opener but found it was too pliable..

Edit: just made a can of Starting Fluid into a bottle opener and IT WORKS!!!!

I've made the top of a table into a bottle opener....in fact, when I got too drunk to pop the top on a bottle that way, I literally had to stop drinking.....aaaahhhhhhh :s0029:
