I use a spay on lube when loading 9mm or .45 in a dillon 650 progressive reloading press that uses a case feeder. It increases my productivity immensely. After a loading session I vibratory tumble the loaded rounds for about an hour. I have loaded in excess of well over 100000 handgun cartridges in this manner over the past 20 years with absolutely no issues. The use of a tumbler to clean loaded rifle rounds is something that I would not attempt, such a practice would change the geometry of powder granules (especially a "stick" powder like IMR 4895) significantly influencing powder burn rate.

I tumble all my brass. I have been loading 223, 30/06, 308, 45 ACP, 44 mag, 357 mag & 9 mm
on my 550 for +25 years. I have never lubed a pistol case or mouth. I use home
made Lanolin lube for rifle. Works better than any case lube I have used. Tumbling unprimed
cases you have to deal with media stuck in primer pockets. Spray cases with some
water and roll on a towel. Spray on type lubes can be cleaned this way.;) I never
tumble loaded ammo.
