Population Migration 2010 to 2020.jpg

N.D. was mostly because of the oil fields - a huge migration happened there and rents/etc. shot up thru the roof to where people who didn't work in the oil fields could not afford it.

The rest of the migration is either job centers (mostly tech) or snow birds/retirees (NV/LV, AZ & FL) - not sure about the SE - could be retirees.

Oops you are right! Thanks! What is the story there I wonder? Maybe that's the only urban area of ND? Only been through there once and all I remember is barren and cold. Maybe that keeps the Californians out though so may be worth it for that reason alone ! ;)
That is where the Bakkan oil patch is located. The largest oil field in the US. A lot of high-paying jobs came to the area in a short amount of time, causing a huge migration of people in search of those jobs.
